Types of cooling:................................. 1) Two-circuit cooling with mounted heat exchanger, coolant circulating pump,
expansion tank, thermostats and raw water pump.
2) As keel-cooling with coolant circulating pump and integrated thermostats.
Crankcase:............................................. Grey cast iron crankcase, for monobloc design, „wet-type“ (exchangeable) liners.
Crankcase breather:........................... Closed-circuit crankcase breather.
Cylinder head: ..................................... Grey cast iron block-type cylinder head.
Valve arrangement / timing:.......... One inlet and one exhaust valve per cylinder, actuated via tappets, pushrods and
rocker arms, gear driven camshaft.
Piston: .................................................... Three-ring piston, two compression rings and one oil scraper ring.
Piston cooling:..................................... Oil cooled with spray nozzles.
Connecting rod: .................................. Forged steel rod.
Crankshaft:........................................... Drop-forged steel crankshaft with integral counterweights.
Crankshaft and big-end bearings: . Tri-metal plain bearings.
Camshaft:.............................................. Steel camshaft.
Turbocharging: ................................... Water-cooled turbocharger, intercooler as option.
Exhaust manifolds:............................ Liquid-cooled exhaust manifold.
Torsional vibration damper:........... Viscous-fluid damper.
Lubrication system:........................... Forced-feed circulation lubrication with gear pumps, integrated engine oil cooler,
paper type microfilter as replaceable cartridge, integrated in main oil circuit, double
filter as option.
Injection system: ................................ Single injection pumps for each cylinder integrated in crankcase with mechanical or
electronic governor; electronic solenoid valve system (MVS) with single injection
pumps optional.
Fuel injection pipes: .......................... High pressure fuel injection pipes, double walled as option.
Fuel system : ........................................ Fuel lift pump integrated in v-belt tensioner, replaceable cartrige-type for fuel filter,
double filter as option.
