1 Introduction

1.1 Scope of this document

This document describes the strategy for U900+U2100 site configuration.

Parameterization related to the deployment of this strategy is also covered.
Performances monitoring counters are listed at the end of the document.

1.2 Objective Of The Trial

Objective is to validate site configuration and functions.

1.3 Pilot Pre-Requesites

Before starting the pilot network, the following points will be completed:

- Prolog functional validation

The following table describes the software loads that should be on the testbed/network elements
during the pilot:

2 Hardware Introduction

2.1 WBBP board

The WCDMA Baseband Process Unit (WBBP) in the BBU3900 processes baseband signals.
The panels of WBBP boards applied on S network are as shown in Figure 1, Figure 2 and Figure 3.

Figure 1 Panel of the WBBPb2

Figure 2 Panel of the WBBPb3

Figure 3 Panel of the WBBPd1 or WBBPd2

2.2 WBBPd in the BBU

 WBBP board can be installed in Slots 0 to 5, configured in slot 3 by default. In S project , as the slot 4
is planned for UTRP and the slot 5 is occupied by GTMU board ,only slot 0 to slot 3 available for
WBBP board. For some sites the slot 1 will be used by USCU board.

 WBBPd board supports the IC (interference cancellation) function of uplink data when installed
in slot 2 or slot 3.

2.5 CE Resources Allocation in Baseband Boards
In Huawei DBS3900 base station, the WCDMA baseband processing resource consists of DL and
UP resource which are managed respectively by DL resource group and UP resource group.

 Uplink Rules
o Baseband boards (up to 6) can be configured as 1 resource group or as several
resource groups
o CE resources can be shared in one resource pool within 6 cells dynamically
o 1 UL resource group can support up to 6 cells
o Recommended to put intra-frequency cells into the same UL resource group, because
Softer handover may occur in cells within the same UL resource group

 Downlink Rules
o Several WBBPd board can be configured
as 1 resource group
o Same-carrier cells should be configured in
same baseband card
o CE resources can be shared inside only
one WBBP board
o DL resource group can support up to 24
cells;
