Organizational Profile
When founder Rachel Sparks learned about child sexual exploitation in Thailand, she
Brief
History
decided to expose it through the power of film.

The Freedom Story was born from a documentary film called The SOLD Project.

After interviewing dozens of sex workers, common themes became apparent:

poverty, a lack of education, and a lack of options. Rachel responded by providing a

scholarship to an at-risk student, and The Freedom Story was born.

What did we learn?
1. Technology provides some really cool ways to fundraise
(Amazon, PayPal, etc.)
2. An interactive, aesthetically pleasing website can
completely dictate a potential donor’s perspective of the
organization.
3. Including personal narratives can also influence donor’s
willingness to contribute because they will see the
difference they can make.
