Dear Team Cary,

February 14, 2018

I wanted to share with you some updates from the campaign trail. We are a few short weeks from State Assembly and
the momentum is really rolling!
To Whom It May Concern:
This weekend county Democratic parties across Colorado held their county assemblies. Cary was able to speak to
Cary Kennedy
Boulder, Denver, for Governor
Arapahoe, campaign
Adams and is going
Pueblo county through
assemblies the
on Saturday andcaucus. Please
the response noteShe
was fantastic. that
received standing ovations in Denver and Arapahoe counties and loud cheers everywhere she went. To date Cary has:
this is not the binding letter due on April 4th.
• Won 9 of the 11 biggest counties in the state on caucus night and she got more votes than all of the candidates
combined
If you• have any further questions please reach out to me at aaron@ck4gov.com.
Won precinct caucuses in Boulder county by 10% and then held that 10% margin at the Boulder County
Assembly last Saturday
• Grown her margin of support in every one of the top 10 county assemblies that have been held to date (El Paso
is the only remaining large county to have assembly coming up on 3/31)
Thanks,
• Broken 60% support in 5 of the top 10 biggest counties (Denver, Jefferson, Weld, Douglas and Arapahoe)
including being over 70% in Arapahoe county.

We are in a great position for State Assembly on April 14th, which is the final step in the process to set the primary
ballot.

In addition to these great results, two polls this week show that Cary is strongly positioned to win the democratic primary
Aaron
and is Bly
the strongest candidate by far to win the general election in November. First, was a public poll released by
Magellan Strategies today:
Campaign Manager // Cary Kennedy for Governor
Magellan’s Conclusion: "At this early stage of the campaign Cary Kennedy has succeeded in making herself the
alternative to Jared Polis and potentially the front runner in the nomination for Democrat Governor."

Cary and Jared are statistically tied in the recent Magellan poll of democratic primary voters - 23% to 27% with a margin
of error of 4.84%. All other candidates are in the single digits with Mike Johnston at 8% and Donna Lynne at 5%. We
continue to see that when voters get to know Cary they like her. Cary's ratio of favorability to unfavorability is 14 to
1. Jared is 8-to-1, Mike is 3-to-1 and Donna is 4-to-1. This further shows Cary’s likability and how the more people get
to know her, the more they like her.

Click here for full Magellan Poll.

The second poll showing good news is from our pollster Keating Research that shows
that Cary wins a general election matchup against Walker Stapleton by a
commanding 15% - 55% to 40%. I have attached a memo on this poll from
Keating to this update.

This polling and her decisive wins in the Democratic nominating process show her strong base of support with the key
demographics in Colorado politics - women and the suburbs. Cary has now broken 60% support in 5 of the top 10
biggest counties (Denver, Jefferson, Weld, Douglas and Arapahoe) including being over 70% in Arapahoe County.

Cary has also been the top democratic fundraiser in 2 of the last 3 quarters and is on track to have her strongest quarter
yet. 81% of her support is from Colorado contributions and her average contribution is $142 showing that she has a
strong and growing base of Colorado funders who can sustain her through the primary and the general.

Thanks,
Aaron Bly

From: Chris Keating, Keating Research
Date: March 26, 2018
Re: Cary Kennedy leads Walker Stapleton by 15 points
In order to mimic a gubernatorial race between Cary Kennedy and Walker Stapleton, we read voters the
following positive statements about each candidate:
Democrat Cary Kennedy served as the Colorado State
Treasurer. She is a working mom who will make public
education our top priority, reduce healthcare costs and
keep Colorado the place we love.
Republican Walker Stapleton is the current Colorado State
Treasurer and a common sense Colorado conservative.
He believes that government should
be limited and accountable.
After hearing these candidate statements, Cary
Kennedy leads Walker Stapleton by a 15 point
majority, 55% for Cary Kennedy to 40% for Walker
Stapleton and 5% undecided.
Cary Kennedy has coalesced her support among
registered Democrats (94% Cary Kennedy – 4% Walker
Stapleton) and she receives support from 10% of registered Republicans (10% Cary Kennedy – 87% Walker
Stapleton). Of particular note is that her message appeals to Unaffiliated voters where Cary leads by a
margin of 2-to-1 (60% Cary Kennedy – 30% Walker Stapleton).
Coming off of her recent caucus victory, voters are ready to elect Cary Kennedy as the first woman
Governor of Colorado. Cary Kennedy leads by 22 points among Women (58% Cary Kennedy – 36% Walker
Stapleton), while men also give a nod toward Cary Kennedy (49% Cary Kennedy – 45% Walker Stapleton).
Cary Kennedy leads across all age groups - by 23 points with younger voters age 18-49 (59% Cary Kennedy –
36% Walker Stapleton) and by 8 points with older voters (52% Cary Kennedy – 44% Walker Stapleton).
Cary Kennedy leads by a margin of nearly 3-to-1 among Hispanics (66% Cary Kennedy – 24% Walker
Stapleton). In the five suburban counties that are key to winning statewide in Colorado, Cary Kennedy leads
by 23 points (58% Cary Kennedy – 35% Walker Stapleton).

In order to mimic a gubernatorial race between Jared Polis and Walker Stapleton, voters heard a positive
statement about Jared Polis and the identical Walker Stapleton statement:
Democrat Jared Polis is the Congressman from Boulder. He will work towards one hundred percent renewable
energy in Colorado and providing free, full-day kindergarten to every child.
Republican Walker Stapleton is the current Colorado State Treasurer and a common sense Colorado
conservative. He believes that government should be limited and accountable.
After hearing these candidate statements, Jared Polis leads Walker Stapleton by 7 points, 50% for
Jared Polis to 43% for Walker Stapleton, 2% other candidate and 6% undecided.
This polling data is based on 1,000 live-interviewer telephone surveys conducted March 13-19, 2018 among
“active” voters defined as registered voters who voted in November 2014 or November 2016. For the split samples
of 500 interviews the worst case margin of error at the 95% level is plus or minus 4.4%.
