Comprehensive Progress Report
Mission:
Winstead Avenue is a place where children develop a love of learning through challenging academic experiences in a
nurturing environment.
Vision; Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schoo! System is focused on preparing ALL students bright & prosperous futures by
* deliberately and intentionally providing Rigorous and Relevant instruction in every classroom, every day.
Goals:
Teachers will implement the gradual release of responsibility model in daily instruction.
Students will receive 45 to 60 minutes of intervention and/or enrichment a minimum of four times a week beginning
September through May 2018
Teachers will implement differentiated instruction across all subject areas in daily instruction and with quarterly global
projects
WAVE Staff, in collaboration with PTO, will have monthly outreach to parents and community to help enhance and
reinforce school goals for student achievernent.
Initial Assessment: Limited
All teachers are required to have a guided Development
reading block where they work with groups of 11/15/2017
students on varying levels. The expectation is

reading 3D data. This is occurring in all reading
blocks. However, intervention blocks are not as.
consistent due to staffing limitations.

implementing all four portions of the gradual
release model over the course of one day's
instruction. The full district's framework will be
implemented over the course of a full week with
teachers typically having their anticipatory set
for Mondays with daily closure activities to
recap their day's lessons.

and partnering with Participate.com to
implement professional development for
teachers and staff. We have also partnered with
local college NC Wesleyan to provide access to
International Students.
All staff members are signed up for and
expected to complete three Participate.com PD

classrooms. Teachers complete global
awareness activities with their students.
The school's Global Committee has been
