Monday, March 26
† Esth. 10:3 For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among
the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and
speaking peace to all his seed.
Father God:
Mordecai used his position to promote the prosperity of others. Lord
forbid I should use my position as a member of my church to do less than that.
As a son to the Father, I pray you today, speak peace to the network of the lost
neighbors, friends and family I know. Just like Jesus, who spent his power on
bringing others to God, let me be a servant to them, bringing them to Jesus!
Make me more of a Mordecai to this church, determined according to my
ability to further its fortune in your Eternal Purpose. When you give me positions
of affluence and influence, let me honor you in those high places, and witness to
others about the beautiful name of Jesus as Savior and Lord.
I have something far better that Mordecai, because I have close fellowship
with you, the King of all kings. So I must be sure to plead daily for the spiritually
poor—for the doubting, the tempted and the comfortless. I intercede today for
__________ and __________, who are still in darkness! Help me impart my
wealth of spiritual learning to them by telling them about the cross.
I can at least seek their welfare in prayer. If I have no other contact with
them than that, at least my desire is accepted of you. Help me, to the best of my
ability, to seek the wealth of my church in my neighborhood. Keep me from
weakening it by neglect. Prevent me from doing wrong by bitterness and
gossip. Lord I seek your grace, so my Easter outreach is made ballistic
evangelistic! For so may the name of Jesus Christ be honored among us and in
the community, just as it was in Mordecai’s time. Amen.

Tuesday, March 27
Matt. 9:30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See
that no man know it.
Glorious Christ:
When I consider the works of your life, what a feat! The most magnificent
things are done with no effort. There is no heavy breathing, as if gathering-up
strength to perform. All goes easily in growth when God is with me!
What would I have done at the wedding feast? I would have called
everybody together. That way they knew the wine was gone before I created a
new supply. “See this huge waterpot? Look how I’ve filled it with water. Now
watch while I work my mojo!” Then I would have mumbled something
mysterious, or gone through some religious performance.
You did nothing like that. All your miracles are as if you hate the display.
You act like God, whose wonders in my life are almost too many to take note of
by yourself. It was so Godlike of you to do such great works without looking like
you were doing anything out of the ordinary!
Many times you cut your disciples out of the loop. That way there was no
impression of collusion between a magician and his apprentices. In the case of
the water turned to wine, the less spiritual man (the master of ceremonies) was a
better witness to the quality and reality of the miracle than they could be.
So it is in my life. Sometimes I feel “out of the loop” of what you do in our
church. But when it is all finished, the lost who look over my shoulder are the
best judges of what you accomplish. The way you do your miracles in my life is
an appeal to their curiosity, and so starts to arouse a momentum of faith.
So do it, Lord! Do anything you want with me, only let there be witnesses
to see it and be affected by it. So I ask to Jesus’ glory and by his grace. Amen.
FRIDAY— CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Judges 19-21
Friday, March 30
1 Thess. 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
concerning you.
Precious Lord:
While we offer our prayers for this week, we praise you with gratitude for
all your past mercies. Make them possess our hearts now, so when we assemble
together on Sunday, like when David sat in his house of cedar, we can say,
Psa. 35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea,
let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of
his servant.
Make the gratitude we feel prompt us to pray, and ask again,
Psa. 116:12 What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?
Let us serve you, and serve you so completely your kingdom’s work begins
right here in our own community, and something of kingdom blessings can be
enjoyed even now. This is participating in your Eternal Purpose.
While we work for you Lord, keep us always sitting at the feet of Jesus.
Help our faith never wander from the simplicity of confidence in him alone. Let
our motive never be anything but your glory. May our heart be swept off its feet
with your love, and our thoughts always meditating on your person. We choose
the good part that cannot be taken away, so that as we serve with Martha we can
also sit with Mary!
Let our church and our pastors receive a fresh anointing of the Holy Ghost,
so every member of our body will be serving for the Master. Enliven every
ministry. Let nothing slump to which we have set our hands. Prosper us
soulwinners so the name of Jesus may be magnified! Amen.

Wednesday, March 28
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the
LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the
LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
Everlasting and Living Lord:
Why do I not call on your name more? Before I get out of bed I should call
on your name. Prayer should be the key that opens my day, and the lock that
shuts it at night. The first thing I need is to pray. I do not need to run to this best
friend, or that wise person. You are so much nearer to me than them all!
I do not need to sit and scheme, or make new plans. Help me concentrate
today on immediately rolling every burden your way as soon as it comes. I need
to cry out to you! Jesus was filled with the Spirit but he still had to pray. Help me
start praying before I ever bend a knee, and keep praying after I get up. In
vain will I look for deliverance anywhere else, but with God, it shall come to pass.
It comes to pass for whosoever shall call. That means me as well as everybody
else in our church. Help me follow the leading of this verse today. I call upon you
as my LORD—the one who controls and is in control.
My case is urgent. In some things, I do not see how I can be delivered this
week. But that is not my business, though. My business is to call; your business is
to control. If you make a promise, then it is your will to find a way to keep it. It
is my obligation to operate in faith, righteousness and obedience. If I keep your
commands then you keep your counsels, and my obedience brings revival!
I am your servant Lord, not your salesperson. I call on you; I do not
manipulate you. Revival is a sovereign work of your will. You respond today
because you love me, and I thank you for that. Now glorify your Son in my life,
for I ask it in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
SATURDAY—IN THE PSALMS

Saturday, March 31
Psa. 41:4 I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned
against thee.
Lord God Who Sees My Heart:
I thank you I can cling to this promise of your mercy when every chance of
pity from others is gone. Heal my soul so I can regain my position. Do that by
granting me mercy and not justice. Grace gives me things I do not deserve, but
mercy withholds the judgment I do deserve. Give me the extreme of mercy for
the extremity of my misery! It was my own pride and selfishness that caused my
pain. My righteousness is as filthy rags. I live in a flesh in which no good thing
dwells (Rom. 7:18). All my sin goes against you, but you are the one,
Psa. 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Psa. 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
My heart is broken, Lord. The habits of grace grow weak when sin grows
strong and vigorous. Your grace never fails, but sin does give me a wound. What
I pray for now, I know you promised to your people in all ages:
Hosea 14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is
turned away from him.
Sin has strength: it is in the law I cannot keep. Sin has a sting: in the death it
brings to faith, to relationships, and to soul-devotion to you. But I know there is
a way back from it all!
1 Cor. 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord
Jesus Christ.
1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the
victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
So my faith is in your forgiveness today! Amen.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
“Oh,” says one, “I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer.” And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into God’s presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayer—the posture, the
time, place—rather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
