shall be accordance to the project specification,project quality,building finishing schedule,approved
materials and standard in relation to the project safety requirements.

1. The following are work procedure general condition:

 The jobsite shall be enclosed and barricaded to ensure protection to workers
during work execution
 Provide proper protection to cover all installed fixers by other trades or nearest
structures
 Ensure the area have sufficient air and light ventilation prior to start the
activities.This is to avoid suffocation and safety of all workers related to this job

 Upon release of the area ,site engineer will arrange the
materials,tools and equipment needed in construction
 All tools shall be checked as per normal safety requirement ,power
supply compatibility and with the tools and equipment power supply
shall also be checked
 When the permit of work is ready ,all area shall be marked with
correct elevation of chipping.the minimum thickness of grout shall not
be less than 30 mm.though the chipping it to a minimum 30mm the
floor thickness will remain the same,because it will replace chipped
concrete with embedded c-channel with using grout materials
 Theoretically the concrete cover will also be the same since the
purpose of chipping and grouting is to correct only elevation and
alignment within the tolerance limit.
 Exust blower should be provided during the chipping to avoid dust
accumulation that may cause choking hazard to the workers
 Floor shall be chipped until the desired elevation has to reached and
embedded c-channel have to cut by grinder every 500 mm for

2 of group “A” sub-contractor will fix again new embedded C-channel
(line-2) as followed of opposite as built embedded line -1 elevation
and alignment to avoid evenness and straightness tolerance in
between them.
 Before final fixing of the formwork, remove all dirt and debris from within the
area to be grouted;
 Saturate the concrete within the formwork with water for 24 hours prior to
grouting to ensure a saturated but surface dry condition at the time of grouting;

 Ensure sufficient grout is available on hand to complete the intended pour in

a continuous process;
 Prior to the grout installation mixing equipment shall be demonstrated to be
suitable and in good working order. Back up mixing equipment should always be

 Prior to mixing operations, ensure that all standing water is removed from bolt
pockets and surrounding areas;

 The temperature of both the grout and elements (including ambient temperature)
coming into contact with the grout shall be in the range recommended by the
manufacturer;

 Individual bags may be mixed with a slow speed (300-500 RPM), heavy duty drill
fitted with a suitable mixing paddle. Multiple bag mixes shall employ dedicated
grout mixers or modified drum mixers;

 The mixing set-up must be able to produce a continuous supply of freshly

mixed grout once the pour starts;
 Place 90% of the mixing water required to achieve the desired consistency into the
pail or mixer before adding the bagged grout. Maintain water addition within the
range given in the appropriate Technical Data Sheet;

 When the mixed grout is lump free, add the remaining mix water to bring to
the desired consistency;
 Mixing time with drill and paddle will be as per manufacturer’s recommendation;

 Standard temperature of mix shall be as per manufacturer’s recommendation.

 Placing
 Pour the grout steadily down the slope of the formwork to reduce the possibility of
entrapping air;

 Do not pour from different sides of the area as this can cause voids which reduce
the effective bearing area;

 Curing
 Immediately after the grout is placed, cover exposed edges with wet rags keeping
them wet for 24 hours. After 24 hours remove the formwork;

 After removing the formwork, the placed grout shall be continuously wet for a
duration recommended by manufacturer using potable water as curing material;

 If necessary, curing compound shall be used as per manufacturer’s written

instruction.

 Grout Sampling & Testing
