EXPERIENCE
Assistant Principal, Atlanta Board of Education 2012 – Present
Planned, implemented, and evaluated the curriculum and instruction of grades Pre-K - 5. Facilitated
teams that developed common assessments and conducted item analyses. Developed templates and
processes for data analyses. Served as the Lead Testing Coordinator for all test administrations.
Founded the C.H.O.I.C.E. (Character development, Healthy habits, Occupational options, Inclusivity of
all stakeholders, College-prep, and Excellence in everything we do) theme still implemented today.
Served as Safety Coordinator with 100% compliance of state and district mandated drills. Developed a
school safety plan that included students, parents, and staff responsibilities. Addressed all discipline
concerns to ensure appropriate and effective consequences that resulted in positively changed
behaviors. Monitored all tiers of RTI. Supervised instructional coaches to ensure effective lesson
planning, lesson delivery, formative assessments, and professional development for teaching staff.
Created and maintained the master schedule to ensure appropriate instructional time is given to all
subjects. Monitored the Student Information System (SIS) to ensure proper student registration and
orientation. Monitored teachers’ input of student data and generated progress and grade reporting
documents. Instrumental in moving toward a paperless reporting system for discipline, grades, and
parental contact. Partnered with the principal to conduct evaluations, TKES, CKES, EPAT, and deliver
support to staff via professional development and learning plans. Served as Social Emotional Learning
facilitator. Decreased the number of discipline referrals. Built effective relationships with parents and
other community stakeholders to develop a shared vision.
