APPLICATION PROPERTIES

• EMANON EV-E belongs to a new generation of non-ionic surfactants useful in many different
cosmetic applications, being suitable for both rinse-off and leave-on products in hair and body
care applications.

• The presence of EMANON EV-E in cosmetic formulations, in contrast with other normally used
non-ionic surfactants, does not have negative influence on the foam, but enhances it instead,
specially when a large amount of hydrophobic substances (such as oils) are present in the
formulation. EMANON EV-E is a key ingredient to achieve a superior foamability.

• Its high HLB value makes EMANONEV-E also suitable as co-emulsifier in hair conditioners,
acting as polysorbate substitute in creams and, becoming also a main component of wet wipes
and make-up removers.

• EMANON EV-E is a very good cold emulsifier. Combined with low HLB surfactants, such as
sorbitan monoesters, very low droplet size emulsions are formed with very good stability. This
feature, permits preparing easily formulations such as sun protection lotions, creams and sprays,
facial and body care lotions and creams, facial cleansing milks and foams, make-up removing
milks and wipes, and also baby wipes.

• Compared with other normally used non-ionic surfactants, as synthetic ethoxylated alcohols,
EMANON EV-E presents several ecological and eco-toxicological advantages.

STORAGE – HANDLING – SHELF LIFE

• EMANON EV-E is chemically stable for a long period of time under appropriate storage
conditions (temperature of 25ºC and original unopened container).
• In the case of long storage time, it is advisable to homogenize the product before its use,
especially if it has been submitted to low temperatures. Small changes in the appearance can be
easily recovered by applying a moderate agitation at 25-30ºC. A general advice is to use the
complete container every time.
• The shelf life of EMANON EV-E can be considered of 2 years minimum under proper storage
conditions. After longer storage time some of its characterising parameters (odour, appearance,
colour ,pH,…), should be checked before using it.
