and q are integers and q # 0?

2. The perimeter of an equilateral triangle is 60 cm. Find the area of the

triangle.

3. How many lines can pass through two distinct points?

SECTION – B

(Each question carry 2 marks)

7. Write abscissa of following points :

(4, 0) (5, -3) (-3, 4) and (0, -4)

8. Using remainder theorem, check whether the polynomial 2x3 – 2ax2 –

6x + 6a is a multiple of x-a.

9. What should be added to the polynomial x2 – 5x + 3, so that 3 is a

zero of the polynomial?

10. On which axes do the given points lie?

(0,4) (-2, 0) (3, 0) and (0, -1)

11. Compute the area of the trapezium show in the figure.

A 6cm O 8cm

12. If the mean of 5 observations x, x+4, x+8, x+12 and x+16 is 13, then

find the observations.

SECTION – C

(Each question carry 3 marks)

13. Express 0.6 + 0.7 + 0.47 in the form p/q where p and q are integers

and q≠0.

14. Prove that if two lines interest each other, then the bisctors of

vertically opposite angles are in the same line.

15. When the polynomials x3+4x2 – 11x-26 and 6x3 + 17x2 + ax-8 are

divided by x+2, then remainders are the same. Find the value of a.

16. In the given figure, EAB = EBA and AC = BD. Prove that

17. Find the two solutions of the equation 4x-5y=15. Also, check whether

(2, -2) is a solution or not.

18. The sides of a quadrilateral ABCD are AB=13cm, BC=16 cm, CD=20

cm and DA=5 cm. If BD=12 cm, find the area of quadrilateral, using

Heron's formula.

19. ABCD is a square, X and Y are points on the sides AD and BC such

that AY=BX. Prove that XAY=YBX

20. The sum of the base radius and the height of a solid right circular

cylinder is 37 cm. If the total surface area of the cylinder is 1628 cm 2,

then find the volume of the cylinder.
