APTIS FOR TEENS: PREPARATION COURSE

Course Description
APTIS for Teens is a highly flexible and engaging course combining general language and
skills development with exam preparation. It is designed for teenagers or young adults who
have achieved an upper intermediate level of English.
Course outcomes
 Promote English language learning by using topic-based activities, which are
central to the immediate interests of students.
 Prepare students to take APTIS test with improved confidence by implementing
exam techniques for each part of the exam.
Class dates: February: 12, 19, 26; March 5, 12, 19, April 9, 16, 26, 30; May, 7, 4, 21, 28;
June 4, 11, 18, 25. Easter Break: March 26 & April 2. APTIS TEST: JUNE 25

Course Assessment:
Final grade = 50% continuous evaluation (classwork and homework) and 50% of practice
tests.
Materials: You need a notebook and a 2” binder. In each session, your teacher will give
you a number of handouts you will need for your vocabulary log, and skills practice.

What is APTIS for Teens?

APTIS for teens is a new global English test from the British Council. It is an English test designed for 13-17
years olds, which is used to assess your ability in all four English Skills- reading, writing, speaking and
listening.
