Find absolute capacity of a condenser

The charge required to produce a certain difference of potential between the plates
of a condenser bears a constant ratio to the difference of potential. This constant
ratio is called the capacity of the condenser.

Thus if the charge be Q, the difference of potential between the plates V, and the
capacity C, we have, from the above definition,

The capacity, as has been said, depends on the geometrical form of the condenser
and the nature of the insulating medium. If the condenser take the form of two large
flat plates, separated by a short interval, the capacity is approximately proportional
to the area of the plates directly, and to the distance between them inversely.

What is meant by shunt resistance?

In electronics, a shunt is a device which allows electric current to pass around
another point in the circuit by creating a low resistance path. ... The origin of
the term is in the verb 'to shunt' meaning to turn away or follow a different
path.
What is steady deflection?
When battery key and galvanometer key are pressed together
..throws comes out on the meter scale which goes on either side
and stop there..that is steady deflection...

This first deflection Ɵ is often called the ‘throw’ of the

galvanometer; we have then,
Q=kƟ,

FIND THE SELF INDUCTANCE OF COIL BY ANDERSON METHOD

inductance

1. the property of an electric conductor or circuit that causes an electromotive force to be

generated by a change in the current flowing.
What is inductance and what causes it?
Inductance is caused by the magnetic field generated by electric currents
flowing within an electrical circuit. ... Self-inductance: Self-inductance is the
property of a circuit, often a coil, whereby a change in current causes a
change in voltage in that circuit due to the magnetic effect of caused by the
current flow..
What is the inductance of a coil?
An inductor, also called a coil, choke or reactor, is a passive two-terminal
electrical component that stores electrical energy in a magnetic field when
electric current flows through it. An inductor typically consists of an insulated
wire wound into a coilaround a core.

What are the factors that affect inductance?

Factors Affecting Coil Inductance There are several physical factors which
affect the inductance of a coil. They include the number of turns in the coil,
the diameterof the coil, the coil length, the type of material used in the core,
and the number oflayers of winding in the coils.

What is inductance and its unit?

Inductance. A current generated in a conductor by a changing magnetic field
is proportional to the rate of change of the magnetic field. This effect is
calledINDUCTANCE and is given the symbol L. It is measured in units called
the henry (H) named after the American Physicist Joseph Henry (1797-1878).

What is the difference between inductor and capacitor?

These components are passive element's, which draw power from the store,
circuit, and then discharge. The main difference
between a capacitor and inductor is that an inductor is used to store the
energy in the form of magnetic field, whereas acapacitor stores the energy in
the form of an electric field.

What is the difference between an inductor and a capacitor?

The main difference between a capacitor & inductor is that an inductor is
used to store the energy in the form of magnetic field, whereas
a capacitor stores the energy in the form of an electric field.
AC bridges are often used to measure the value of unknown impedance (self/mutual
inductance of inductors or capacitance of capacitors accurately). A large number of AC
bridges are available and Anderson's Bridge is an AC bridge used to measure self inductance
of the coil. It is a modification of Wheatstones Bridge. It enables us to measure the
inductance of a coil using capacitor and resistors and does not require repeated balancing of
the bridge.

Why RC circuit is used?

RC Circuits have many uses in electrical engineering and applications to the
real world. The most commonly sighted applications are filters! An RC
circuit can beused to create a high pass or low pass filter, meaning that
when an AC signal is passed through the circuit, only certain frequencies will
be allowed to pass
An RC circuit is a circuit with both a resistor (R) and a capacitor (C). RC
circuits are freqent element in electronic devices. They also play an important
role in the transmission of electrical signals in nerve cells
