4. Rationale for the inclusion of the course/module in the programme
Kursus ini perlu untuk mendedahkan serta menyediakan bakal guru sejarah dengan sejarah Negara China
dan Jepun antara tahun 1500 hingga 1955. Sejarah China dan Jepun dapat memberi pemahaman yang
lanjut kepada situasi yang berlaku di negara kita pada awal abad ke-20. Pengetahuan ini perlu supaya
satu pandangan yang berkaitan dan holistik tentang sejarah Malaysia dapat diberikan kepada bakal guru
sejarah. Kursus ini juga dicadang diwujudkan untuk menyediakan bakal-bakal guru dengan pengetahuan
sejarah tentang kedua-dua negara China dan Jepun yang terdapat dalam kurikulum Sejarah tingkatan 6.

Pada akhir kursus pelajar akan dapat:


1. Memahami latar belakang sejarah negara-negara China dan Jepun daripada sudut yang lebih
komprehensif (P1,C1)
2. Menganalisis reaksi masyarakat tempatan terhadap perluasan kuasa Barat dan kesan kolonialisme
terhadap sistem pemerintahan dan pentadbiran kedua-dua negara tersebut (P3,C4)
3. Membincangkan keadaan selepas negara China dan jepun mendapat kemerdekaan dan usaha
membangunkan negara sebagai kuasa utama dunia selepas era kemerdekaan (P4,C2)

 Kemahiran menganalisis, mensintesis dan membuat penjelasan

12. Synopsis
Kursus ini membincangkan bentuk masyarakat awal di kedua-dua negara ini sehingga mencapai
kemerdekaan. Dengan itu, kursus Sejarah China dan Jepun ini akan membincangkan bentuk-bentuk
masyarakat awal, corak pemerintahan dan pentadbiran dalam masyarakat tersebut, perubahan-
perubahan yang berlaku dalam masyarakat dan pemerintahan yang selanjutnya membawa kepaada
kemajuan dan pembangunan kepada negara. Semuanya dibincangkan berdasarkan 3 skop utama iaitu
sosial, ekonomi dan politik.
