Dear readers,

According to the Kingdom’s 9th Development Plan “Manpower and the Labor
Market” have the highest priority in forming Saudi Arabia’s future. It is the overall
objective to build up a knowledge-based society that is capable of contributing to
the diversification of Saudi Arabia’s economy that is foreseen to ensure the
employment of Saudi Arabian nationals. Furthermore, the Saudi Arabian
government is investing large amounts to support efforts in order to realize a
balance between outputs of the education and training systems and the
requirements of the labor market. The 2012 budget allocates 45 Billion USD
expenditure on education and training, representing 24 percent of the Fiscal Year
2012 and an increase of 13 percent to the previous year. In April 2012 King
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud launched the first phase of university campus
projects in different regions and laid the foundation for its second phase worth
21.8 Billion USD. The lighthouse projects of the Saudi education sector are the

women who will equip newer generations with high quality education and

Ministry of Higher Education for Cultural Missions Affairs, said in September
2012 about the outcomes of the scholarship program and expectations
towards the KASP students. The German economy in the Kingdom of Saudi

companies but also an opportunity to build up advantages on the high competitive
