Insulation and Conductivity tester Megger MIT40X, or equivalent, is
recommended for use in areas contaminated with explosives or pyrotechnics
Key features of the test instrument MIT40X, shown above, are:
Isolation Mode: Voltage of 10V – 100V adjustable in steps of 1Volt
Resistance of 0- 2G & 0 - 20G according to set voltage test current is 5nA.
Continuity mode: Test current of 20mA or 200mA can be chosen.
The resistance ranges is 10m to 99.9. Use of the 20mA range is recommended.
The continuity mode can be used to test low-resistance grounding of machines and facility parts.
Recommended working procedure:
A) Continuity testing of conductive grounded facility items and machinery
Operate the tester in isolation mode. Set the probing voltage to 10V Connect the cabinets, magazines, shelves or grounded objects to the red probing cable. Connect black cable to ground. When the testing cables are well connected, keep the test button pressed while reading the display. When a value in the ohms is displayed (as opposed to an infinite reading), the measurement can be repeated in continuity mode for a more accurate reading.
