Preparation and Logistical Considerations


 Students are arranged in desks of three to easily confer with peers
Procedure
Introduction Time
 Morning routine with agendas 10 min

Body Time
Bingo Review Teacher writes outline of LA period on board 20 min
Explain bingo review
Hand out bingo cards
Students need two lines to call bingo
Teacher checks cards, and gives out prizes
Teacher collects cards, everyone gets prize
Paper handlers hand out portfolios

Discussion What is simile? What is metaphor? 5 min


Can you give an example of each

Simile: compares two things using that are not normally alike
using “like” or “as”
Metaphor: describes one things as something else
does not use “like” or “as”
