Supply Company
Welcome Supply Company Family!

Your Marines have been very busy between getting ready for the upcoming
deployment to Afghanistan or with the implementation of a new automated warehouse
management tool or with the ISO 9001 certification process. Several of our Marines
went to Yuma, AZ and trained with the regiment for the upcoming deployment. The
environment was harsh and the days were long and boring at times however it
provided a great opportunity to work together and a greater opportunity for small unit
leadership to really bloom. We all look forward to the pre-deployment block leave for
those going on the deployment. For those who are not going on the deployment, don't
worry you will get your chance next time.

Greetings Everyone!

Wow! Where did the last year go? It seems as though this year has gone be so quickly. Maybe it is
because time flies when you’re having fun! I have had the good fortune of working with some of the
greatest people on earth, and one such person is Yady, the out-going commanding Officer’s Wife.
Yady has always been here for the Marines and Sailors of the Battalion as well as their families…
and ME. Some of you may have seen her out on the 22 area parade deck, or at Family Days
helping to cook-up chow and passing-along her positive up-beat attitude. Yady has also worked marty.k.rector@usmc.mil
behind the scenes with me, doing little things that make a BIG difference. To Yady and LtCol Cell: (760) 468-7618
Collazo, the Family Readiness Team will miss you and your steadfast support immensely. Thank Office: (760) 725-1841
you for everything you’ve done for the Battalion!
Best Wishes,
Marty

Final Letter from YADY to the Battalion
Hello Marines, Sailors, Family and Friends of 1st Supply Battalion:

Hello everyone, it is with mix emotions that I write my last time to the Supply Battalion Newsletter. What a
wonderful journey this has been. For the past two years, I have seen the Battalion family grow to full
potential in planning and execution of events, family days, deployment stress and most of all in taking care
of one another.
I know we could not have done it without the help of our wonderful Family Readiness Team and Marty
Rector (our FRO) who has been the back bone of the program. I thank you this team for all the hard work,
loyalty and dedication you have put into the program while helping the families of the Battalion. I would like
to extend also a great thank you to all the wonderful wives and husbands, who helped us plan and support
every Battalion event we put together. You were an integral part of the success of the Family Readiness
Team. I could not have asked for a most talented, most outgoing and energetic team to work with. And
lastly, but not least, thank you to all the marines and sailors of 1st Supply Battalion who supported us in the
planning and execution of our events. Your participation made all the difference and every experience an
adventure.
As I reflect in the last two years, I feel very honor to have been part of this journey with all of you. It has
not been easy but it has been the most rewarding experience of my Marine Wife and spouse time. The
memories and love of each one of you has a special place in my heart and I will take them with me
wherever I go. But most important, I will take the most precious gift of all – and that is your friendship –
thank you for given me the opportunity to be part of this family.
Yady
