You will prepare your project on one of the following topics. Your tutor will assign
different topics to different students during your classes. For example, if the number
of students in your class in 15, one topic may not be assigned to more than eight
students.

1. Design a lesson plan for developing descriptive writing skill with the help of using
pictures and realia. Keep in mind the three stages of developing writing skills, that
is, controlled writing, guided writing and free writing. Your lesson should focus at
describing a personality as well as an event. Implement the lesson plan in your
classroom. Assess the performance of the students to find out whether or not you
have achieved your lesson objectives.
2. The learners of ESL commit a number of errors in their written compositions.
Conduct a research study to find out nature and causes of these errors. You can
select a sample of 10 – 15 students, assign them a topic and ask them to write a
paragraph. Analyze it carefully to find out the types and frequency of errors with
respect to chain and choice and give some recommendations to improve the
situation. Enclose students’ assessed compositions with your report.
