Once upon a time, there were a married couple lived in a small village. They
felt lonely because there was no child accompanying them. having waited for
so long, God gave them a reward for their patience; his wife was finally
pregnant. They were very happy.

But the happiness they had did not last long. his wife got a strange ill. He
really worried about his wife. Because there was no medicine could cure
her. He had tried so many ways of treatment. But suddenly there was and
old woman suggested him to take rampion flower growing in the deep forest.
On the next day, he went to the forest to pick it to treat his wife. But
the place where the flower grew was kept by an evil witch. He thought,”If
I dont pick it, my wife will die soon”. Then, he forced himself to pick it.
But, while he was picking the flower, the witch caught him stealing the
flower.

“How dare you!! stealing flowers in my favourite garden!! I’ll kill you”, The
witch said.

“Forgive me please, my wife is pregnant and suffering a strange ill. Only

this rampion flower can cure her”. the man begged.

“Hahaha, hahaha. You may bring that flower from my garden as much as
you need. And I also forgive and let you go. But on one condition. When
the baby is born, you have to give it to me. Don’t worry, I will treat the
baby as a baby of my own”, the witch said.

He accepted the requirement to save his wife and the child later. And when
the baby was born, the witch appeared and picked her from her parents
and gave a name, Rapunzel.

Rapunzel grew into a very beautiful girl. When she was 12 years old, the
witch locked her in a tower in the middle of the forest. It didn’t have a
stair and door. It had only a small window at the top of it. When the witch
wanted to visit her, the witch ordered Rapunzel to lose her long hair.

Yup, Rapunzel was blessed with a very beautiful hair, long and shiny as
gold. Rapunzel had to lose the hair through the window down, so the witch
could climb to the top of the tower. Rapunzel did it every time the witch
visited her.

After several years od living in the tower, Rapunzel grew as a beautiful

woman. Rapunzel felt lonely living alone, so she always sang. One day, a
handsome prince who was hunting in the woods accidentally heard beautiful
voice coming from the tower. He tried to find out and wanted to get into
the tower, but he could not find the door or stairs to climb. The prince fell
in love with Rapunzel’s voice. Therefore, every day he went to the woods
and listened to her beautiful voice. One day he saw the witch came to the
tower and said:

“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, lose your hair down for me”.

As always Rapunzel lowered her hair.

On the next day, the prince came and tried the same way as the witch did.

“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, lose your hair down for me”.

Yup, Rapunzel lose her hair down and the prince climbed to the top.

Rapunzel was shocked and scared when she saw the prince. Rapunzel had
never met anyone except the witch. But, listening the prince’s talking and
his friendly character, her fear was slowly driving lost and turned to be
love. After several time the prince visited her. He proposed her to marry
him and lived with him outside.

“I will go with you, but I don’t know how to get out of here. Bring me a roll
of silk every time you visited me, and I am going to weave the silk rope.
When the rope is ready, I will come down and take me to the palace”.
Rapunzel told him.

Then, Rapunzel asked the prince to come at night. Because the witch
visited her in the morning. But one day, the witch climbed to the top at
night and Rapunzel thought it was the prince she loved.

“My dear prince, why are you so heavy today?”. Rapunzel said.

“Prince??! The witch was surprised. “I think, I have separated you from
the outside of world, but I was wrong!”. The witch said angrily.

The witch took scissor and cut Rapunzel’s long hair. The witch discarded
her to the desert. Then the witch tied Rapunzel’s hair in the window to find
out who visited Rapunzel. Later, the prince came. The witch lose Rapunzel’s
hair. When the prince climbed to the top, he was surprised, it was not
Rapunzel, but the ugly witch!.

“Ahhaa.. Rapunzel has gone, You’ll never met her again forever.” She said.

The prince was so sad and desperate. The witch who was angry with him
pushed him down and his eyes thorns pierced into his eyes and made it
blind. He felt hurt and walked aimlessly, lamented his fate who lost the
woman he loved. But he kept walking and looking for her.

After several years walking, he arrived to the desert where Rapunzel lived.
He suddenly heard a beautiful voice which was very familiar. Yups, it
belonged to his love, Rapunzel. They both finally reunited. Rapunzel cried
to know that the prince was blind. She hugged him and cried until her tears
fell down to the prince’s eyes. Then, the miracle happened, the prince
opened his eyes and got his sight back. Afterwards the prince brought
Rapunzel to the palace, and they both lived happily forever.

garden, the witch knew. She was furious and wanted to kill him. “Please do
not kill me. My pregnant wife was sick. If I did not give this magical flower
she and my baby will die “the husband said. Finally the witch let him go,
but with one condition when the baby was born, he had to give the baby.
Without thinking, her husband agreed.

When he got home, he gave the magic flower to his wife. Then his wife’s
illness miraculously disappeared and she born a beautiful baby. When the
baby was born, the witch came. She robbed the baby and took him away.
They could not do anything about it.

The witch was holding their baby at a very high tower with no doors. The
tower only has a window in it. Witch was raising the child in the tower and
named her Rapunzel. Rapunzel grew into a beautiful girl. Her hair which was
never cut became very long. The witch was always coming to the tower to
bring food. She always called him from below, “Rapunzel let your hair
down”. She used her hair as a rope to climb the tall tower.

Rapunzel stayed on top of the tower alone even she never saw human
except that witch. She had a very beautiful voice so that her days were
spent to sing. One day, a handsome prince passed the tower. He heard
Rapunzel singing so beautifully. He fell in love with her voice. The prince
came to the tower every day to hear Rapunzel sing. One day, the prince
saw a witch climbed the tower using Rapunzel hair.

The next day, the prince tried to climb the tower. She called Rapunzel.
“Rapunzel let down your hair” he said. The prince climbed to the top of the
tower. Having reached the top, Rapunzel surprised that the one who came
is not witch but others. They both met each other until they become
lovers. The prince told everything to Rapunzel and Invited Rapunzel to
escape. However, when they wanted to escape, the wicked witch came and
pushed the prince of the top tower so that he was blind.

The witch was very angry. She cut Rapunzel’s hair and discarded her into
the faraway desert. The prince who was blind looked for Rapunzel for
years. He walked alone and finally reached the desert. One day, he heard
a voice he knew singing. The prince realized that it was the voice of
Rapunzel. Eventually they both met again. They hugged and cried with joy
until Rapunzel’s tears fell to the eye of prince. Then the prince got his
sight back. Afterwards the prince brought Rapunzel to his kingdom and they
lived happily ever after.

yang bisa menyembuhkan segala penyakit yang dijaga oleh seorang penyihir.
karena cintanya kepada sang istri, dia pergi menuju hutan itu. setelah
sampai di hutan, dia mengendap-endap untuk mengambil bunga itu. saat dia
memetik bunga yang berada di tengah-tengah kebun, sang penyihir
mengetahuinya. sang penyihir sangat marah dan ingin menyerangnya. “aku
mohon jangan membunuhku. istriku yang hamil sedang sakit. kalau aku tidak
memberi bunga ajaib ini dia dan anakku akan meninggal” sang suami berkata.
akhirnya sang penyihir melepaskannya pergi namun dengan satu syarat
apabila bayinya lahir, dia harus menyerahkan bayi itu. tanpa berfikir
panjang sang suami menyetujuinya.

sesampainya di rumah, dia memberikan bunga itu kepada istrinya. secara

ajaib penyakit istrinya hilang dan dia melahirkan seorang bayi yang cantik.
saat bayi itu lahir, penyihir datang. dia merampas bayi itu dan membawanya
pergi. sepasang suami itu tidak bisa berbuat apa-apa. mereka hanya sedih
menangisi anaknya.

penyihir itu menyekap bayi mereka di sebuah tower yang sangat tinggi tanpa
pintu. tower itu hanya memiliki jendela di atasnya. penyihir itu membesarkan
bayi itu di dalam tower dan memberinya nama Rapunzel. Rapunzel tumbuh
menjadi seorang gadis yang cantik. Rambutnya yang tidak pernah dipotong
menjadi sangat panjang. Penyihir itu selalu datang ke menara untuk
membawakannya makanan. dia selalu memanggilnya dari bawah, “Rapunzel
turunkan rambutmu”. dia menggunakan rambutnya sebagai tali untuk
memanjat menara tinggi itu.

Rapunzel tinggal di atas menara sendirian bahkan dia tidak pernah melihat
manusia kecuali penyihir itu. dia memiliki suara yang sangat indah dan hari-
harinya dihabiskan untuk bernyanyi. pada suatu hari, seorang pangeran
tampan melewati menara itu. dia mendengar Rapunzel bernyanyi dengan
sangat indah. Dia jatuh cinta dengan suaranya. sang pangeran datang ke
menara setiap hari untuk mendengarnya bernyanyi. Suatu hari, sang
pangeran melihat penyihir memanjat menara menggunakan rambut Rapunzel.

Keesokan harinya, sang pangeran mencoba menaiki menara itu. dia memanggil
Rapunzel. “Rapuntzel turunkan rambut mu” katanya. lalu pangeran naik ke
atas menara. Setelah sampai di atas, Rapunzel terkejut yang datang
buknalah seoarang penyihir tetapi orang lain. Mereka berdua pun saling
berkenalan hingga mereka menjadi sepasang kekasih. sang pangeran
menceritakan segala hal kepada Rapunzel dan mengajak Rapunzel untuk
melarikan diri. Namun, saat mereka ingin melarikan diri, penyihir jahat itu
datang dan mendorong sang pangeran dari atas tower hingga buta.

Penyihir itu sangat marah. dia memotong rambut Rapunzel dan membuang
Rapunzel ke padang gurun yang sangat jauh. Sang pangeran yang buta
mencari Rapuzel selama bertahun-tahun. dia berjalan sendirian dan akhirnya
mencapai padang pasir. Suatu hari, ia mendengar suara yang dia kenal
bernyanyi. sang pangeran sadar bahwa itu adalah suara Rapunzel. Akhirnya
mereka berdua bertemu kembali. mereka pun berpelukan dan menangis
bahagia. hingga pada akhirnya air mata Rapunzel jatuh ke mata Sang
pangeran. lalu sang pangeran mendapatkan penglihatannya kembali. kemudian
sang Pangeran membawa Rapunzel ke kerajaannya dan mereka hidup bahagia
selamanya
