Dear Colleague,

It is my pleasure to recommend Kaitlyn Morisette as a candidate for a teaching

position with your district. During the 2017-2018 school year, I worked closely
with Katie as she completed the year-long internship program at Michigan State
University. In that time, I was able to observe Katie transition from a recent
college graduate with a degree in education into an educator. In her internship
placements she exhibited a deep knowledge of teaching pedagogy,
interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, and a disposition to be a vital member of
the school team.

In the fall of 2017, Katie taught in a 3rd grade general education classroom with
the Huron Valley School District at Lakewood Elementary School. During her
time in the classroom, she administered summative and formative assessments,
used data to develop lessons, and implemented effective management systems.
But, what set Katie apart from her peers was her enthusiasm to question her
practice. She was thoughtful about planning lessons, and the implementation of
the lessons. In her reflection, she would discover new insight into her students,
as well as discover new insight into the curriculum and her teaching practice.
She began the school year with a passion to improve her teaching skills that
continued into her second placement: a middle school resource room.

At the beginning of the new semester in January 2018, Katie became a member
of Oak Valley Middle School 8th grade team as a special education teacher. Katie
College of transitioned successfully to the new demands of a middle school setting. In fact,
Education this is the place that Katie honed her belief that all students have a right to
learn. She began her study of how to make the general education curriculum

Teacher accessible to all students. In doing so, she co-taught in the general education
