Principal’s (or
nominee’s) signature:
This document sets out ‘proposed performance requirement’ and ‘statement of achievement’ against the professional
standards applicable for the classroom teacher (Graduate). Ultimate responsibility for the performance assessment
outcome rests with the principal. However, a principal may assign the process to a nominee with the exception of
the final assessment decision.

Assessment of a classroom teacher’s (Graduate) performance against the applicable standards is within the overall
requirement that the position responsibilities set out in Schedule 2 of the Victorian Government Schools Agreement
2004 are met.

The principal will consider the ‘statement of achievement’ and other relevant information in relation to each
professional standard and make a decision, based on the balance of evidence, about whether the classroom teacher
(Graduate) has satisfied all the standards.

Process: (see Flow Chart for entire process including timelines and meetings)

1. Complete self assessment, set goals, P and D plan, discuss with Annual Reviewer, copy to Principal

2. Maintain PD record and appropriate portfolio of evidence

3. Mid cycle Review

4. End of cycle Review, create new self assessment, new goals and PD plan for the next year.
