1. SITUATION
a. Area of Interest:
i. AO Camp Swift. Throughout the Camp, supply roads and various
strongholds have allowed the Espada cartel build a temporary base of
operations and transport illicit items. Dense vegetation, mixed with
compounds and supply routes have allowed the Espada Cartel to train and
equip foot soldiers for their future operations.
b. Area of Operations: Charlie CO will be operating in AO Camp Swift
PU 64474115.
i. Terrain
1. Observations and fields of fire: Rough terrain with thick foliage
obstructs views.
2. Avenues of Approach: RTE Maroon runs through the AO and are
high speed avenues of approach. Will likely be used by enemy
forces to facilitate faster movements.
3. Key and decisive terrain: Small rises and higher ground
overlooking gullies. Trail intersections.
4. Obstacles: Different military training sites used for live fire
exercises that separate training areas.
5. Cover and Concealment: Dense brush provides cover and
concealment.

2. Enemy Forces
iii. Disposition: Members of the Espada Cartel are arrayed in SQD sized
elements throughout the AO. May have an HQ element coordinating their
movements
iv. Strength: Cartel forces in the area are estimated to be roughly 40-50
operating in SQDs of between 5 and 10 personnel.
v. Recent Activity: Espada Cartel forces are conducting resupply operations
and defending supply caches in the AO IOT support a buildup of men and
equipment to seize Camp Swift. They have been observed with small arms
and dressed in a mixture of ACU uniforms and black tops. ACU tops have
been observed being worn inside out. Cartel forces have been operating on
foot in the AO
vi. Most Likely COA: Cartel forces will continue to operate in small teams
throughout the AO IOT support the buildup of their forces.
vii. Most Dangerous COA: Cartel forces consolidate into PLT strength or
higher and, in coordination with other forces, attack and disrupt operations
at Camp Swift.
c. Friendly Forces
i. Higher HQ Mission
1. Mission: WTB conducts offensive operations in AO Camp Swift
IOT disrupt cartel preparations to seize Camp Swift and support
future operations.
2. Intent: Destroy and disrupt cartel activities in AO Camp Swift and
collect intelligence for future operations.

2. Mission
Charlie Company conducts offensive operations IVO AO Camp Swift NLT 1715
07APR2018 IOT destroy Espada Cartel forces, disrupt their resupply processes, and
reduce their capability to seize Camp Swift.
3. Execution
a. Commander’s Intent: To kill all Cartel forces in the area, collect actionable
intelligence which will drive future operations, and sustain minimal friendly
casualties.
b. Concept of Operations: Charlie CO PLTs will conduct rehearsals in their
respective PBs. 1st PLT will be at PU 6656 4850, 2nd will be at PU 6652 4864,
3rd will be at PU 4726 4779, and 4th will be at PU 6678 4772. Once complete, all
platoons will move out to their ORPs to conduct Leader’s Reconnaissance and set
up for their respective maneuvers. 1st Platoon will be the main force, and attack,
occupy, and defend OBJ Shiner at grid coordinate PU 6672 4956 IOT seize and
hold terrain, and eliminate the HVT on site. 2nd Platoon will attack OBJ Pabst at
grid coordinate PU 6714 4927 IOT eliminate enemy presence and disrupt their
freedom of maneuver. 3rd Platoon will ambush OBJ Miller IVO grid coordinate
PU 6609 4953 IOT to react to any enemy QRF and deny their support in defense
of OBJ Shiner. 4th Platoon will dig in and conduct defensive operations for
company effort in the AO at OBJ Adams grid coordinate PU 6686 4875.
3rd PLT 10min prior to 1st PLT IOT to effectively be able to shape the
battle. Upon neutralization of the HVT, all PLTs will withdraw and return to the
company CP
c. Scheme of Maneuver
This will be a FOUR phase operation.
Phase 1 – This phase begins with all four platoons planning and
conducting rehearsals in their respective PBs at 1400 hours. The Platoon leaders
will be briefed at this time on the mission and they will disseminate the
information and rehearse what is called for in their respective missions. When the
PLTs SP for their ORP, they will radio up that they have reached Phase Line
Austin. The phase ends when platoons will SP towards their ORP.
Phase 2 – This phase begins when all four platoons of Charlie Company
SP towards their ORP. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Platoons will arrive at their ORPs, at
which point, they will radio up that they have reached Phase Line Bastrop. There
they will drop their Rucksacks to be guarded by a small security detail. After
occupying their ORPs, each platoon will conduct a leader’s recon on the
objective, determine the best course of action and emplacement of soldiers and
equipment, and prepare for execution. When the leader’s recon returns to the
ORP, the PLT will radio up that they have reached Phase Line Clarksville. The
phase ends on SP towards their objectives.
Phase 3 – This phase begins with all PLTs SP from their ORP towards
their respective objectives. When all PLTs are set up in their positions, they will
radio up that they have reached Phase Line Dallas. 3rd PLT will begin the
operation by attacking OBJ Pabst and securing the area. At this time, 2nd PLT
will be in position to ambush any QRF coming down the road towards OBJs
Shiner and Pabst. Once OBJ Pabst is secure, 1st PLT will attack OBJ Shiner,
destroy all Cartel forces, and eliminate the HVT. 2nd PLT is instructed to attack
any Cartel forces that are traveling down the main road. Once the HVT is
eliminated, 1st PLT will radio this up to higher, and all PLTs will exfil from their
objectives and SP back to their ORPs.
Phase 4 – This phase begins when all four platoons SP to their ORPs from
their objectives. Once they are consolidated back in their ORPs they will radio up
that they have reached Phase Line El Paso. At this point, each PLT will get a
positive count on all men, weapons, and equipment by the PSG. Each PLT will
then move back to the CP and await follow-on missions.

d. Scheme of Fires: None


e. Casualty Evac Plan
i. Casualties will be moved to 4th PLT at OBJ Abrams and will later be sent
to the CP to be further extracted.
f. Tasks to Subordinate Units
i. 1st PLT conducts a raid on OBJ Shiner IVO PU 6672 4956 IOT destroy
cartel forces and collect intelligence. From there, move back to Charlie
Company AA and await your follow-on mission.
ii. 2nd PLT conducts an ambush at OBJ Miller IVO PU 6609 4953 IOT
disrupt cartel QRF and collect intelligence. From there, move back to
Charlie Company AA and await your follow-on mission.
iii. 3rd PLT conducts a raid on OBJ Pabst IVO PU 6714 4927 IOT destroy
cartel forces and collect intelligence. From there, move back to Charlie
Company AA and await your follow-on mission.
iv. 4th PLT conducts an area defense on OBJ Adams IVO PU 6686 4875
v. IOT disrupt cartel forces QRF and collect intelligence. From there, move
back to Charlie Company AA and await your follow-on mission.
g. Coordinating instructions

1400-1500: Planning, rehearsals, and OPORD brief in CP
1500: SP to ORPs
1500-1520: Movement to ORP
1520-1610: Leader’s Recon and emplacement of key personnel

ii. CCIR: Convoys and defensive positions are spread along the AO, PLTs
are tasked to seize any intel that is found on KIA.
iii. PIR: Cartel leaders of smaller units often have intel on their person that
lead to locations of other units in the AO, Phones and small radios for
their communication.
h. ROE
i. Assume all non-coalition forces are cartel personnel and engage
decisively. All individuals in AO with weapons may be engaged.

necessary, evacuated.
