Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)


Time: 5 minutes
Whole class

-The teacher is going to greet the students and tell them: our lesson today will be about the landforms and I know
you’re familiar with this topic so it will be very fun and easy lesson.

-(Introducing the lesson) Teacher says: In this lesson we are going to do many things the first thing is imagining your
self clamping Everest mountain after that you're going to play a game it names 'Describing and guessing.' After you
finish 'Describing and guessing' game you are going to do 'correcting verbs activity'.

- Teacher says: at the end of this lesson I want to hear everyone's voices and after hearing all your voices I will give
each student a small quiz to examine your knowledge about verbs.

Guided Experience (whole class) –Fluency activity-

-The teacher is going to tell the students: close your eyes for one minute and imagine yourself clamping Everest

-Teacher says: now you can open your eyes. The teacher is going to choose students randomly to let them saying
their answers and to hear their voices.

-After finishing this warmer activity the teacher is going to say: now we are moving to a very fun activity which is
'Describing and guessing.'
Independent Experience (Pairs activity)

-Teacher says: in this activity you're going to work in pairs and I am going to call each pair names.

-Teacher says: I will give each pair a picture of one landform and they have to hide it and not letting anyone to see
it. (Each pair will have differnret picture of differnret landform.)

-The teacher will give each pair differnret picture.

-Teacher says: I will give you two minutes to talk with your partner trying to create some descriptive words for your
landform. Make as much as you can!

-Teacher says: time is up. Now, I am to going to call each pair to come at the middle of the class and hide their
picture and start to describe it. The rest of the class should guess the name of the landform and if they got it right
the teacher will choose another pair. ( The teacher will repeat this again and again until finishing a

(Group activity) –Accuracy activity-

-Teacher says: Thanks for doing great efforts in 'Describing and guessing' activity.

-Teacher says: now we are going to do 'correcting verbs activity.'

-Teacher says: in this activity you are going to set in your normal groups. I will be displaying sentences including
verbs but these verbs will not be correct so you have to fix it.

-Teacher say: each group will correct two sentences but before that I am going to read each sentence loudly so you
have to LISTEN carefully.

-The teacher will start to read the first two sentences for the first group and she will give them one minute to
discuss and to give her the answers. (If they gave wrong answers she will ask the rest of the class to help them
correcting the structure of the sentence)

Closing

-The teacher is going to tell the students: you've made great works and I am proud of you.

-Teacher says: in the future lessons what kind of listening and speaking activity would you like to do? I will be happy
Time:

to receive your suggestions.

-The teacher will write the students suggestions on the board.

Assessment

-The teacher is going to give each student a sheet to match the verbs with its pictures

*This assessment will examine the students' knowledge about the verbs so it will examine their accuracy. As same as, it will
examine the students' knowledge about their background of differnret words so it focuses into fluency too.
