Name: Corey Townsend

Company: Sprint Business
Position: Technical Applications Consultant
Location: Atlanta Georgia

Corey Townsend is a business associate and trusted friend of Thomas Watkins. We

have worked together for over five years. His position at Sprint made him a great source
for information pertaining to the implementation of the customers new wireless
infrastructure he is an expert in coordinating customer installs of Sprint proprietary
equipment and third party vendor equipment.

I spent a few hours speaking with Corey on the Topic of upgrading the customer’s
existing wired network to a wireless network. Corey made some suggestions that made
project completion a little easier.

1. Be sure to bring up the server first and make sure it has connectivity
2. Be sure to test before anything is implemented for some examples:
a) Always have a machine on the network set up as a test lab.
b) Test all the software on the test Lab Machine first
3. Back up everything if you are upgrading a machine to Windows XP back up
the entire C: drive.
4. Even though you would like it to seem to the customer as if nothing happened
they will notice on the front end so be prepared for a lot of questions.
5. Be aggressive and make sure the major players in the office are aware of
everything that is going on
6. Seek out somebody in the office who is a bit technical or can relay
information quickly to solve small problems when you are not there this will
be very helpful and free up some of your time

Name: Gloria Cooper

Company: Sprint Business
Position: Senior Project Manager
Location: Atlanta Georgia

Gloria cooper is a Senior Project manager that I respect and admire. Over the past
two years, I have seen her start and finish projects that seemed impossible. We went to
her for most of our project management tips.

Through out the course of the project we revisited Gloria on numerous occasions
about how to do things related to MS Project, budget and Customer relations. She gave us
valuable information that made the project less uncomfortable for the customer.

Gloria gave us an evaluations form for the customer to fill out at each mile stone
in the project. This form was invaluable. What this did for the customer was allow a
gateway to be opened, and encourage communication. The Hope Center felt like they
where a partner in the project. Gloria was very big on customer relations. She stated that
no matter how good your deliverables are in the business environment you must have a
good reputation with the customer. If you do a great job your name will pop in their head
next time they are talking about their Telecom needs to there business associates and this
will increase revenues for you or the corporation you work at.

She did not say too much about budget, but what she did say was you have to
have a contingency fund because “If it can go wrong it will”.

Name: Ben Butler

Company: AT&T Wireless
Position: Senior Switch Technician
Location: Fort Myers, Florida

Ben is a friend of Thomas Watkins that lives in Fort Myers, Florida. Ben is an
expert in wireless communications. When we decided to implement a wireless network,
this man knew what we needed to do. The main thing we wanted to discuss with him was
wireless security and he was more than happy to pass his knowledge on to us.

He made suggestions that we really thought where great so we ran with them. He
explained that although WEP is the standard whether it is done with 64 or 128 encryption
it is still very by a person with the right resources. WEP alone could not secure our
network. He stated we would need to secure each individual network resource by giving
each one some form of a firewall to include anything that can be touched inside the LAN
by another PC.

The scenario he gave was some one sat outside and attempted to get on the LAN
through a Laptop. If the person was able to get past the WEP could they get a local IP
from DHCP? Could they access resources? Could they access client files?

These questions needed to be looked at and some of them we did not think about
when we chose to go wireless. He offered solutions to each some where feasible and
some where just down right impossible. We implemented security, which is detailed in
another part of the project notebook.

Name: Dan Tuck

Company: Paragon Networks
Position: CTO
Location: Danbury, Connecticut

Dan Tuck is an associate and friend of Harry Harshaw. He has been in the field of
network administration for over fifteen years and is very knowledgeable of Windows
2000 Server.

When making decisions on setting up the server we placed a lot of weight on his
recommendations. After discussing the network and the security issues that we where
going to have we came up with a simple solution to the server configuration.

The idea as explained by Dan was to set up the server exactly like it is seen on the
LAN. For the customer this would also be the easiest way to make the transition from the
traditional peer-to-peer network that was in place.

He explained the purpose and how to set up the user accounts, in an easy and
efficient way by adding groups then placing each individual user into a group. Some of
the information that Dan gave us information that we already knew but did not know
exactly how to make the configurations on the server. Dan walked us through on the
telephone because he actually lives in Danbury, Connecticut.

Name: Jim C. Harshaw

Company: Worldwide Telecom BD
Position: CEO
Location: New Jersey, New Jersey

Mr. Harshaw is actually Harry’s father and very well known for his skills in the
Technology world combined with his knowledge of finance. He is currently the CEO of
Worldwide Telecom BD.

Mr. Harshaw helped us with a few aspects of the project that ranged from
configuring the IPsec tunnels on the Barricade router to find the best deals on hardware.
Mr. Harshaw is the Chief Executive officer of the company we ordered our equipment
from so we where able to get a fair price for it.

Mr. Harshaw also stayed up late nights on the telephone with us configuring IPsec
on the router and testing from a remote location. (New Jersey) Since distance was not an
issue because of VPN. He was able to trouble shoot remotely from his location. We
allowed this because he is trusted.

Mr. Harshaw explained very important things to us such as the budget in detail.
He also help us locate patches for software that did not appear compatible with windows
XP. The fixblast.exe file that removed the M32Blater worm from our network was the
result of research performed by Mr. Harshaw.

Name: Danny Ludwig

Company: Web Hosting
Position: CEO
Location: Woodstock, Georgia

Danny Ludwig is a point of contact that lives in Woodstock, Georgia and has
extensive knowledge of network infrastructure.

Danny was very helpful to us by providing networking tips and solutions to

security issues within the LAN environment. Since we wanted to implement security on
each machine to protect against malicious intruders, he showed us how to use Norton
Internet Security to its full potential.

We explained the network to him but he decided to help us out he would come out
and look at the physical network. Then he could make suggestions on how to configure
the software so security would not get the way of the Hope Center’s day to day activities.

By doing this, he made it possible for us to configure the server and clients in a
way that made security transparent yet very reliable. Danny was a very valuable player in
the project by suggesting things that we would not have thought about normally because
we are not Norton Internet Security Gurus like he is.
