2. OPERATION
2.1 COMPASS SELECTION
There are the following 3 methods as the method of the compass selection by CMZ700D
Gyrocompass.
(1) One touch selection with alignment of each compass by the “Gyro heading selector key”
on C. OPERATION UNIT
(2) Manual change-over selection by the “Change-over switch” in CONTROL BOX
(3) By-pass operation with changing of the connector in CONTROL BOX

2.1.1 Normal compass selection

Compass selection by the “Gyro heading selector key” on C. OPERATION UNIT can be used as
normal compass selection.
□Operation procedure
①”Change-over switch” in CONTROL BOX should be made normal position.
②The compass is selected by the C. OPERATION UNIT. Press the “Gyro heading selector key:
( “G1” or ”G2”) for 2 seconds to select the desired compass.
2.1.2 Manual change-over selection by the “Change-over switch” in CONTROL BOX
The compass is selected by the “Change-over switch” in CONTROL BOX .
Output signals to the ECDIS, RADAR and CONNING DISPLAY etc. are changed-over by turning
the “Change-over switch” to the desired compass position.
When the No.1 or No.2 is selected, the output heading signal alignment can not be executed.
Therefore, align the heading in each connecting device.

2.1.3 By-pass operation with changing of the connector in CONTROL BOX

Please execute this operation only when you cannot use the change with CHANGE-OVER SWITCH
due to the breakdown of CONTROL BOX.
《NOTE》

・Please do not execute this operation, except when the control box breaks down.
・ Please assume the power supply of the system to be "OFF" and execute this operation.
・ Please confirm each output is normally output after this operation ends.
・ It is necessary to align the stepper signal input equipment.
・ The gyro might have the error by the influence by which the power supply is turned off.
Please note sailing of the ship enough.

□Operation procedure
① All power supplies should be “OFF".
② Changing to No.1 Gyro (Please refer to figure-1, -3, -4)
The wiring between CHANGE OVER ASSY and M.TB ASSY in CONTROL BOX is changed as
Figure-1.
a) All the connector cables from CN6 to CN10 are removed between CHANGE OVER ASSY
and M.TB ASSY.
b) Please execute following connections by using the removed connector cable.
・On M.TB ASSY, the CN6 is connected with CN8.
・On M.TB ASSY, the CN9 is connected with CN11.
c) Please remove CN3 and CN4 connector on M.TB ASSY.
d) Please remove the connector of CHANGE OVER ASSY CN5, and connect its connector
with M.TB ASSY CN3.
③ Changing to No.2 Gyro (Please refer to figure-2, -3, -4)
The wiring between CHANGE OVER ASSY and M.TB ASSY in CONTROL BOX is changed as
Figure-2.
a) All the connector cables from CN6 to CN10 are removed between CHANGE OVER ASSY
and M.TB ASSY.
b) Please execute following connections by using the removed connector cable.
・On M.TB ASSY, the CN7 is connected with CN8.
・On M.TB ASSY, the CN10 is connected with CN11.
c) Please remove CN3 and CN4 connector on M.TB ASSY.
