3) CONFERENCE INTERPRETER
• September 2017 - TEVA Works Council meeting
• June 2015 - Awareness campaign, JUGAR SIN JUGARSE LA VIDA (loosely translates
as the Right to Play Without Gambling Life) was co-organised by two non-profits. The
initiative focuses heavily on educating and re-educating refugee children, especially
girls, who have escaped from militant-controlled territories or conflict areas, such as
Syria.
• March 2015 - “La Jornada de reflexión sobre las prácticas docentes en Magisterio”
(Spanish < > Italian) Comenius Regio event ( Lifelong Learning Programme). As
aligned with my additional Italian interpretation diploma, I interpreted Italian < >
Spanish in the booth.
• January 2015 Entreculturas “SOMOS MIGRANTES” Entreculturas Showcase & Round
table
• I provided whispered interpretation from Spanish to English for the benefit of the
African survivor, who was also the guest speaker. The event included the showing of a
short film which I also interpreted to him. Consecutive EN < > ES was provided for the
audience.

Main activities and responsibilities
1) I oversaw the logistics of
thematic training, language exercises, dummy booth permits, room bookings
day-to-day administrative, advisory, linguistic and other equivalent technical tasks.
Meet and accompany trainers, check on the technical set-up and ensure that the training ran
smoothly.
Steer the training follow-up, including retrieving quality data and participation rate.
follow-up on the event recordings, intranet announcements, room logistics and feedback collection.
Behind the scenes, the team reaches out to trainers, interpreters and technicians, and deals with
bursaries and interpreter-targeted courses, both internal and external.
3) Consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, both in the booth and through whispering. IT EN ES with
EN Language A and retour in to ES. Topics and tasks varied widely based on the needs of the event,
participants and details are not disclosed in detail in order to respect the interpreter code of
confidentiality.
4) The Cambridge “Preliminary English test” is a B1 English level exam for young learners and children.
An intense state-funded extracurricular course, including a mock exam, preparing young students for
the PET exam that they would sit in May 2014. The mock exam covered oral, written, listening and
reading skills. This was a teaching project not a part time activity (part time hours per day), but an
obligatory allocated number of hours had to be reached to receive funding and reach targets.
The Cambridge Young Learners Key English (KET) Test was also an extra-curricular intense course
parallel to the PET in the junior counter-part of Istituto Cesare Piva. Its scope was to prepare very
young students (children) to pass the YLE in May 2014. In addition to the programme, I organised a
mock exam in real time to test reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
5) Out of the multiple schools listed, the Berlitz was the school from which I was outsourced
the most to companies and public bodies.
I taught English to a wide range of levels and age groups, using Berlitz-assigned material. Berlitz
students/clients are assigned to the teacher by the Berlitz organisation. Students included
individuals, common group courses and corporate clients such as Accenture, Sanofi Pasteur Msd,
Enel and public administration, for example the Ministry of Internal Affairs and MIUR (Ministry of
Education, Universities and Research in Italy).
7) Academia Córdoba S.L is centred around European mobility projects and receives students
and trainees from all across Europe, typically Leonardo da Vinci students, for a number of weeks. I
carried out this internship alongside my Erasmus studies at the university of Cordoba, therefore I had
sporadic hours and stationed in Cordoba. My role was to guide students (and their teacher) to
famous sites, including the ones found in nearby cities (Granada, Seville and Malaga), and give a
basic tour. Teach students the required minimum number of hours of Spanish per week. Create/
proofread certificates, draft translations and do any required tasks around the Academy.
8) ERA (Esperanto Radikala Asocio) is a NPO based in Rome, Italy, with the aim of gaining
linguistic democracy in Italy and beyond.
My original role in the organisation was to
- translate text from Italian to English and vice-versa.
- As foreign press correspondent, I had to contact other organisations or editors who had shared
interests as us or would like to take part in similar activities.
- Invite interested parties to dialogue with us or join our events.
- Collect data about the progress of linguistic democracy around the world.
- Reach out to the author of the source to verify data, which required me to use my language skills
