The reliability of the values displayed depends on the setup correct execution; the system doesnt
play an active role as regards the safety of the crane.
F Gru Comedil reserves the right to make changes to the specifications herein at any time without
prior notice.
ICS (Integrated Control System) uses LCD touch screen. It means one can interact with the
system just finger-touching the screen.
There are three types of working areas which are graphic designed on the screen:
1 ç Area set for activation of controls specific to the page displayed
(example: change of the unit of measurement system used or input of a variable)
Input of a variable
2 ç Area set for activation of controls for page-to-page moving and for access to Menu
Go to Menu page
Having to enter a variable, the screen displays a window with a keyboard, which varies depending
on the type of variable (numerical value or character string).

F To change the keyboard position, just finger-touch the window moving bar and then the desired
new location on the screen.
There are two start working pages. When operating the system activation, the screen displays the
working page ON at the time of the last system shutdown.
There are no substantial differences between the two pages, except for Jib slewing angle to the
crane tower option included in one of them only (enabled if the system is equipped with the special
slewing sensor) and for the graphic representation.
The crane operator shall use these pages for activation of the controls needed. Namely:
1 ç Change of the unit of measurement (metric or U.S. customary units)
3 ç Zero setting of the hook height (a facility for the operator, who can set up daily a new reference
spot after changing, maybe, the hooking device: chains, buckets, etc.)
Operate the crane slewing. When the sensor will be near one of the three reading proximity switches
inside the lower slewing ring support, the hand indicator will disappear and the display will show
the slewing degrees.

2.1.3 Introduction Pages
The introducing environment consists of general information pages with no controls available.
Move from one page to another following the forced paths, which shall take you again to the start
working pages at the end of the route.

1 ç Move the hoist block (loadless) up to the path limit and wait for a few seconds.
3 ç Hook a load of known weight at least 50% of the crane rated capacity allowed by the hoist line
parts (2 or 4-part line) engaged (calibration weight).
4 ç Move again the hoist block up to the path limit and wait for a few seconds.

The Hour meter environment allows to display the crane working hours. It consists of 6 (six)
pages: 5 (five) pages assigned to the working hours count and 1 (one) page (the sixth) to the
configuration of the custom-made page.
Move from one page to another by Next and Previous touch-keys; go back to Menu by
Back touch-key.
The first page shows the total working hour counters, which cannot be offset. These counters are
set going during the crane final inspection carried out at Comedils works. The starting date is
stored and legible on the screen.
The sixth page assigned to the configuration of the custom-made home page allows to use one of
the Logos stored by the system and to insert two strings of 38 alphanumeric characters/each.
The software basic release includes some Logos of Comedils main customers. The data base of
new releases shall be subject, of course, to further integrations. Anyhow, the user who wants to
have his logo available from the system memory, shall have to contact Comedil Technical
Department.
