Stockpile Segregation
Traveling – Bulk materials become

stratified when the conveyor belt is
passing over the idlers

Degradation
– A stock pile can be revitalized through mechanical work “mixing” using a wheel
loader or a bulldozer.
– During this process the product becomes compacted and degraded by the heavy
machinery passing over it
– Loading, transportation and discharging the product
Contamination
– There is an increased risk that lubricants,
hydraulic oil or grease contaminate the product.

Function
How does it work ?

The falling material stream is creating
a downward air flow ”vacuum” inside
the chute. Air is sucked in through
the gaps between the cone segments
thereby preventing dust from
escaping

Cone and carrying collar
Product features
Each cone segment is approx 1,1 m tall
Each cone segment adds only 100 mm
in retracted position
A cone weighs approx 50 kg.
The cones are made of soft wear
resistant polyurethane.
The carrying collar is made of a light
weight hard polyurethane.
The carrying collar can easily be
opened to release the cone Medium (BW 800-1200)

Installation
Adjustable brackets on top frame makes

installation easy
Lift up and bolt the top frame to the conveyor
frame
Connect the electric cables
Lower the chains and connect them to the
frame on the bottom cone
Lift up the cones to the top position with the
chain hoist
Attach the 8 bolts on the upper cone to the
top frame
In most cases the chute doesn’t have to
extend all the way down to the ground

Limitations – Factors to consider
Available for conveyor belts from 500 mm (20") to 1200 mm (48") wide.
Suitable for material size 0-16 mm (small) 0-32 mm (medium).
Maximum belt speed 2,5 m/s
At wind speeds over 10 m/s the chute should be retracted
High humidity can cause material build-up on the inside of the cones
Max. 15 cones gives a total chute length approx 17,5 meters
Approval from the conveyor manufacturer that it can take the extra weight is
needed or written approval from the customer
