LAS CUNAS (MTV Cribs)

You (along with your group members) are a guest on MTV’s cribs. Take us on a tour of your crib
and show off!

 Take us to 6 different rooms (un dormitorio, un baño, la cocina, el comedor, la sala, el garaje, el
despacho, el sótano, etc.)
 Show at least two general things about/in EACH room (furniture/electronics/solid objects)
 Show two more things in the room and describe them (color/location of objects/size, etc.). Use
different vocabulary words to describe each item!
 Tell us what two people in each room are doing by using the present progressive= estar+ stem of
infinitive+ -ando/-iendo (a chore or an appropriate activity will be fine)
 Give 1 command for each room. At least 1 command should be irregular.
 Submit via Google classroom a typed copy of your script the day the project is due.
 EVERYONE in your group must have lines. They should be divided equally.

LAS REGLAS:
The format for this project is a video. You will work in groups of no more than four people. Your
partners can be any student that is in Spanish 1 and has your same teacher. Feel free to
videotape in any location. However, DO NOT TRESPASS ONTO OTHER PEOPLE’S PROPERTY. The
main focus of this project is NOT how elaborate your project is, but how you demonstrate the
vocabulary and correct grammar. Clean language is required. Inappropriate material –
violence, guns, drugs, etc – will result in a lower grade and administrative actions. If you would not
want an administrator or your parents to see what is in the video, do not put it in the video! There
must be NO ENGLISH unless previously approved.
The video will be submitted via a youtube channel- the day it is due, you must submit the link and
the script to me via Google classroom.

DUE: FRIDAY, MAY 4th

To turn this project in, you will upload it to “YouTube” and send me the link. Make sure your
privacy settings are set to “PUBLIC” so that I can view the video! Along with the link, you will
need to submit the script and names of the people in your group. Projects turned in a day late
will result in a 30-point deduction. Any project turned in after two days will result in a zero. For
every day a typed script is not submitted, I will deduct 10 pts from your final grade. This project
will count as a 125-point test. Each student is responsible for his/her own work. If you use an
online translator or a Spanish-speaking student to “help” with the project, you will receive a
ZERO. At the end of the project, you will be asked to evaluate your group members on their
contribution to the final product: if you did not do your part, your grade will reflect your effort!
Designer’s Challenge

You are a designer on HGTV’s “Designer’s Challenge”. You have to convince the homeowners
to select your design versus your competitor’s design to renovate a particular room.

 Put together a one-room “shoebox” (3 dimensional) presentation of what the renovation will
look like. This includes:
 A detailed example of the room after the “renovation.”
 TWO “fabric swatches(samples)” that would be used in the room.
 Pictures and labels of 7 different items from chapter 6 A.
 Describe each of the 7 items’ size/color/etc and location during the presentation. Use different
vocabulary to describe each item.
 Include a picture or figure of at least 3 chores that someone is doing in the room.
 Write a sentence in Spanish for each pictured chore.
 Write 3 commands that you would tell someone to do in your room. At least 1 should be
irregular.
 Type all your sentences and submit a copy through Google classroom on the day of the
presentation.
 Present your project to the class, and the presentation must be memorized.
