Plant Assignment

This province grows a variety of plants for food and fibre. Crops are chosen by farmers because
of their suitability to the local environment and the needs of consumers. Alberta is trying to
determine what will be our new provincial plant or flower. You are responsible for choosing a
plant native to Alberta and explaining to the Nature Panel why this plant should be chosen as
our new Provincial Plant/Flower.

In this project you will use the internet to create a persuasive and interesting presentation
(powerpoint, or other form of media) to convince the Nature Panel that your plant should be
chosen.
