Assessment Plan: Popping with Pop Art

Entry Level Formative Summative

Vocabulary + Activity Handout: This will be a vocabulary handout with
activity that will test students’ knowledge regarding concepts associated
with the upcoming Unit. This activity will be a demonstration of the
techniques going to be presented in the Unit Project. This will allow me to
see which students are proficient with the concepts and skills leading up to
the current unit.
Pop Art Unit Quiz: This is a quiz that will be given after the
lecture, webercise, and concept map have been completed. It
will be in the middle of the lesson before starting the final
project within the Unit. It will test the students’
understanding of the content. (Pop Art concepts and
characteristics, Pop Art artists, and Pop Art time period)

Creative Flash Cards: Students will create flashcards to

study for their Unit Quiz. They can make these flashcards
however they want if they are reviewing their Unit Terms.

Journal Check In: After the lecture, students will choose a

Pop Artist they’d like to use as inspiration for their final
project. During the unit I will check this journal to see if they
are understanding their particular artist and their style.

Project Check In: Shortly after the journal check in, I will
check off the current progress of each student’s project. This
will allow me to assess how well they are understanding the
technique and how well they understand their artist’s style.

Pop Artist Journal: This will be when the students turn in their Pop Art Artist Journal. This
will be all the notes and research they kept regarding their chosen Pop Artist’s style. This
journal will allow me to see if my students understood the concepts and skills involved with
the unit in writing form. This will be assessed in a rubric form.

Colored Pencil Project: This will be when the students turn in their final project. There will
be a rubric to check off the list of skills I am looking for within the content.
