Apo-Alpraz – XANAX
Drug classes
Benzodiazepine
Antianxiety drug
Therapeutic actions
Exact mechanisms of action not understood; main sites of action may be the
limbic system and reticular formation; increases the effects of gamma-
aminobutyrate, an inhibitory neurotransmitter; anxiety blocking effects occur
at doses well below those necessary to cause sedation, ataxia.
Indications
Management of anxiety disorders, short-term relief of symptoms of
anxiety;
anxiety associated with depression. Treatment of panic attacks
with or without agoraphobia .Unlabeled uses: Social phobia,
premenstrual syndrome, depression
SIDE
EFFECTS: Drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or headache may occur.
Cotazym- Pancrelipase
Combination of lipase, proteasse and amylase, produce by the
pancreas and are important in digestion of fats, proteins and sugar.
Lactobacilli have an inhibitory effect on other organism by producing lactic acid in the
Lansoprazole Prevacid
Drug classes : Antisecretory agent ,Proton pump inhibitor
Therapeutic actions Gastric acid-pump inhibitor: Suppresses gastric acid
secretion by specific inhibition of the hydrogen–potassium ATPase enzyme
system at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cells; blocks the final
step of acid production.
Indications: Short-term treatment (up to 4 wk) of active duodenal
ulcer
Short-term treatment (up to 8 wk) of gastric ulcers
Short-term treatment (up to 8 wk) of gastroesophageal reflux
disease (GERD):
Severe erosive esophagitis; poorly responsive symptomatic GERD
Long-term treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions (eg,
Zollinger-
Ellison syndrome, multiple adenomas, systemic mastocytosis)
Brand name: Plavix Generic name:Clopidogrel
Drug Classification: Anticoagulant, antithrombotics & fibrinolytics
Indication: for the reduction of atherosclerotic events (MI, stroke & vascular
death) in patients w/ atherosclerosis documented by recent stroke, MI or
established peripheral arterial disease. For the treatment of patients
suffering from non- ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome
(unstable angina or non-Q wave MI) in combination w/ ASA.
Mechanism of Action: low dosage aspirin appear to inhibit clot formation by
blocking the synthesis of prostaglandin, which in turn prevents
formation of the platelet- aggregating substance thromboxane A2.
Clopidogrel
Dosage: 75 mg daily
Contraindication: Severe liver impairment. Peptic ulcer and intracranial
hemorrhage. Lactation.
Adverse Reaction:
CNS: depression, dizziness, fatigue, headache

Classification: allergy, cold and cough remidies, antihistamine,
antitussives.
MOA: significant CNS depressant and anticholinergic properties.
Dose 12.5 mg
Trinipatch- nitoglycerin
Drug classes Antianginal Nitrate
Therapeutic actions
Relaxes vascular smooth muscle with a resultant decrease in venous return
and decrease in arterial BP, which reduces left ventricular workload and
decreases myocardial oxygen consumption.

USES: This medication is used for the short-term treatment (usually less than
one week) of constipation.
Classification: laxatives.
HOW TO USE: Take this medication by mouth as directed, usually with a full
glass of water before bedtime. The medication works within 8 to 12 hours to
produce a bowel movement. Laxatives should not be used without doctor's
approval especially in persons experiencing stomach cramps, nausea or
vomiting. Prolonged, frequent or excessive use of laxatives may lead to
dependency.
Domperidone- MOTILIUM
is a medicine that increases the movements or contractions of the stomach and
bowel. Domperidone is also used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by other drugs
used to treat Parkinson's Disease.
MOA is related to its peripheral dopamine receptor blocking properties. Emesis
induced by apomorphine, hydergine, morphine or levodopa through stimulation of
the chemoreceptor trigger zone (situated outside the blood-brain barrier) can be
blocked by domperidone.
Indications And Clinical Uses: In the symptomatic management of upper
gastrointestinal motility disorders associated with chronic and subacute gastritis and
diabetic gastroparesis. Domperidone may also be used to prevent gastrointestinal
symptoms associated with the use of dopamine agonist antiparkinsonian agents.
SIDE EFFECTS Drowsiness, disorientation and extrapyramidal reactions, especially
in children) and cardiovascular effects (arrhythmia, hypotension) might possibly
occur.
Fenofibrate- LIPIDIL
Drug class : Antihyperlipidemic drug
Therapeutic actions ; Inhibits triglyceride synthesis in the liver resulting in a
reduction in VLDL released into circulation; may also stimulate the breakdown of
triglyceride-rich lipoproteins
Indications
Adjunct to diet in treating adults with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed
dyslipidemia
Adjunct to diet for treatment of adults with hypertriglyceridemia
Unlabeled use: Polymetabolic syndrome x
Dosages
ADULTS
Hypertriglyceridemia: Initially, 54–160 mg/day (tablet form) or 67–200 mg
(capsule) PO with a meal.
•
Primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia: 160 mg/day PO with a
meal
Brand name: Diamicron
Indication: For non-insulin dependent diabetes (type 2), in association with dietary
measures and with exercise, when these measures alone are not sufficient.
Drug Classification: Oral anti diabetic agent
Indications: Alone or with other agents in the management of Hypertension, Angina Pectoris,
and Vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) Angina.
Drug Classification: Therapeutic: Antihypertensives Calcium Channel Blocker
Mechanism of Action: Inhibits the transport of calcium into myocardial and
vascular smooth muscle cells, resulting in inhibition of excitation – contraction coupling and
subsequent contraction.
