NATIONAL PE STANDARDS
1. S1.E3 Locomotor (Jumping and landing horizontal plane)
a. Combines jumping and landing patterns with locomotor and manipulative skills in
dance educational gymnastics and smallsided practice tasket and games
environments S1.E3.5
2. S1.E5 Locomotor (Dance)
a. Combines locomotor skills in cultural as well as creative dances (self and group)
with correct rhythm and pattern S1.E5.5
3. S1.E8 Nonlocomotor stability (Weight transfer)
a. Transfer weight in gymnastics and dance environments S1.E8.5
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
FUNDAMENTAL and/or DANCE MOVMENTS- Marching, jumping, bending, extending
arms, twisting
SOCAL OR ACADEMIC FOCUS- Students will be able to feel free with their body and move
around to the music being played. Students will understand they do not need to be self
conscious when dancing around other people
SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS:
Space between students so they do not hit each other during the dance
ORGANIZATION OF STUDENTS:
Students will be in 2 even lines
DIRECTIONS:
Dance- Geronimo
Introduction: March in place for 16 counts
Twist feet in place w/ arms held shoulder height. Bend arm at elbow alternating on each twist for
16 counts
Step out w/ right foot and extend both arms out to side / come back to middle / REPEAT with left
for 16 counts
Part 2/ Second Verse: Twist feet in place w/ arms held shoulder height. Bend arm at elbow
alternating on each twist – 16 counts
Extend right foot backwards with arms extending backwards / repeat with left foot / Alternate –
16 counts
Part 3/Chorus: Mini jumps in place / on the “SAY”, punch right arm in air and bring down in 8
counts
Repeat with left arm on the next “SAY”. Alternate back and forth for 32 counts
Part 4/Instrumental/”FEEL”: Walk forward with arms going from down to up in front of body for 8
counts
March in place with arms going from up to down for 8 counts
Part 5/”Bombs Away”: Perform a squat on “Bombs” and jump in air on “Away”. Repeat 4 times –
16 counts
Repeat Part 1 for 32 counts / Repeat Part 3/Chorus for 32 counts / Repeat Part 3 / Repeat Part 4 /
