I. Adjective
Adjective is a word used to describe the properties of an object. Adjective in english is
always located before the noun. There is some types of adjectives that are known and
often used in english.
a. Possesive adjective
Possesive adjective is adjective used to express possesion.
b. Limiting adjective
Limiting adjective is adjective used to express an indeterminate amount, good for
Countable Noun and Uncountable Noun.
c. Descriptive adjective
Descriptive adjective is adjective describing the nature or situation and something, be
it people, animals, or object.
II. Adverb
Adverb is a word to explain the situation of the verb or other additional words. There is
some types of adverb in english :
a. Adverb of manner
b. Adverb of place
c. Adverb of time
III. Nouns
Noun is a word that describes people’s name, things, animals, place, or everything is in
the object.
Based on the amount, Noun can be divided into two groups :
1. Countable noun is noun to show objects that can be counted with numbers.
2. Uncountable noun is noun that used to show objects that cant’t be counted.
When viewed from the form, noun can be divided into two groups ; singular noun
and plural noun.
IV. To Be & To Have
a. To Be
To Be has meaning “adalah”. Included in To be : is, am, are, was and were. Form is,
am, are used at present tense. Form was, were, used at past tense.
To be has a function to connect a subject and a predicate in a nominal sentence.
b. To Have
To have has meaning “memiliki” or “mempunyai” in the present tense. To have has
two types “has and have”. In the past tense, To have in the form “had” used for all
subject.
V. Pronouns
Pronoun is a pronoun used to replace nomina in a sentence. Pronoun can be divided into
eight : Personal pronouns, Demonstrative pronoun, Possessive pronoun, Interogative
pronoun, Indefinite pronouns, Reflexive pronoun, Relative pronoun, Reciprocal pronoun.
VI. Article
a. Definite article
Definite article is a clothing word used to indirate a certain nomina.
b. Indefinite article
Indefinite article is a clothing word used to describe the nomina in general to not
particular.
VII. Introductory “There”
There serves as a substitute for a subject or opening a sentence that has a meaning
“ada”. There can be offset by to be Modals and To have. Sentence patterns are form
when using there are as follows:
There + To be + Noun + Adverb
There + Modals + Noun + Adverb
VIII. Negative and Interrogative sentence
a. Negative sentence ;
1. Negative sentence with TO BE
2. Negative sentence with MODALS
3. Negative sentence with TO HAVE
4. Negative sentence with HAVE TO
b. Interrogative sentence
Is a question form that does not use a question word.
IX. Elliptical construction
Is a sentence composition derived from two clauses with some elements that has been
simple and removed.
X. Sentence form
Sentence from consist of various forms, but there are only a few that are often used in
english, like reading and conversation.
XI. Comparison form
There are 8 form comparison form :
1. as + adj + as
2. the same + noun
3.the same + adj + as
4. to be + different
5.to be + different from
6. to be + like
7. verb + like
8. to be + a like
