Padjadjaran Journal of Dentistry Manuscript Abstract & Title Guidelines

1. The title, full name(s) of the author(s) (with no academic or clinical


degree), affiliation, and the origin country are written on the top center of
the page, with formatting as follows: font Trebuchet MS; bold; font size 16
pt (for the title), 12 pt (for the author(s) name), and 10 pt (for affiliation
and origin country); Sentence case (for the title), and Capitalize Each Word
(for the author(s) name, affiliation, and origin country).
2. The title should be informative, specific yet citation-friendly, and not more
than 20 words.
4. The abstract content should include and structured as follows: Introduction
(with the research objectives included); Methods; Results; and Conclusion.
Maximum abstract length 250 words. Abstract should be written in one
paragraph. Keywords consist of 3-5 phrases (in alphabetical order) describe
the manuscript title.
3. The abstract formation is as follows: single line spacing (1,0) with no space
before and after paragraph; Trebuchet MS font (10 pt); Bold each abstract
section ended with a colon.

1. The manuscript content in formatting as follows: Microsoft Word readable


format (.doc/.docx); Trebuchet MS font (10 pt); Normal text margin (Top,
Bottom, Left, and Right margin: 2.54 cm); paper size A4 (210 × 297 mm);
Unit of measures are written according to The International System of Units
(SI).
2. The INTRODUCTION section consists of research background containing a
firm and supporting theories, problem formulations, and research
objectives, written in a chapter without subtitles. The INTRODUCTION
contains 3-5 paragraphs with each paragraph must contain a minimum of 2
sentences.

3. The METHODS section describes the type, time, location of research,


research instrument, sampling methods and statistical analysis (except
descriptive research). Ethical clearance statements from the relevant
ethical commission must be included if available.
4. The RESULTS section describes the main results of the research analysis. If
the results of the analysis are presented in the form of tables or figures,
with brief sentences as supportive explanations. Tables and Figures are
inserted in the body of the section script. Tables and Figures titles are
numbered with Arabic numerals and written in Trebuchet MS font type (9
pt), with the maximum 6 total of all Tables and Figures (combine the
related Tables or Figures). In order to improve the display quality of the
manuscript, all tables and diagrams should be made in Microsoft Word or
Microsoft Excel editable format, and figures in .jpg/.jpeg format.
5. The DISCUSSION section explains the results obtained from the research.
The authors compiled, analyzed, evaluated, interpreted, and compared
previous research results with the results from the present study. A relevant
research published by Padjadjaran Journal of Dentistry (PJD) before should
also cited as comparative references. The length of this section must be
longer than the INTRODUCTION section. Weaknesses of the present study
and suggestions for further research development should also describe in
this section.
6. The CONCLUSION section consists of the answers to the formulation of the
research problem. The conclusion is the key result of the research, not the
statistical result.
7. The ACKNOWLEDGEMENT section contains explicit statements regarding
financial support, employment relationships, resource ownership, expert
consultation or patent registration, grants or other funding schemes by
specifying the individual or institution concerned if necessary.
8. The REFERENCES section: The composition of references used consists of
80% primary reference sources (journals, proceedings) and a maximum of
20% of secondary reference sources (textbooks) published in the past ten
years for the most distant. The references are written with the Vancouver
Superscript system format. It is recommended to use reference management
applications (preferably Mendeley®).
