Students will view the teacher created video at home before class. Students should take notes on the video. Once in class,
students will use this information to help them participate in a timeline project that they will be creating. The timeline should
detail all the important documents that led to the creation of The American Constitution. Before they can create this timeline,
they will need the refresher video about why the United States had to create a new government system. The timeline will be
created in a video format that students will then share with the class.
Student Engagement/Higher-Order Thinking: What LoTi level would this lesson be and Why?
This lesson is a LoTi level 4 as students are creating their own products and learning is student focused. Also the videos can be
shared with a wider audience.
Importance of technology: Why is using a multimedia authoring tools critical to the project? Could the project be
completed without this technology? What would be lost without using it? What other types of technology, if any, are
going to be used in the learning experience?
The authoring tools must be used as they allow the user to specialize the video in many ways. The project could not be completed
without the Movie Maker technology.
Inspiration (optional): If you used existing multimedia projects as a model for your project (whether in part or whole),
include the URL(s) so we can visit. Explain what concepts you “borrowed” from others.
Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Briefly discuss some possible issues surrounding internet safety and student
privacy that could arise while implementing this learning experience and explain how you’d minimize risks to
students/yourself, alleviate any fears by parents/administrators, and follow school districts’ Internet Safety/Use Policy.
Students projects could not be posted on the internet containing their names. However, the videos could be shared with a wider
audience anonymously.
