 PRO/II 10.0 Silent Installation Guide

The PRO/II 10.0 silent install does not install its dependencies. Therefore, you have to make sure that these
dependencies are installed before doing the silent install of PRO/ II 10.0. Belo w are the commands to silently
install the PRO/II 10.0 dependencies and PRO/II 10.0. Note that the [PRO/II 10.0 setup folder] below is
where the PRO/II 10.0 install setup.exe is and the whole path has to be surrounded by double quotes if it
contains a space.

Silently install PRO/II 10.0 dependencies:

1. Install .NET 3.5 SP1 (Mandatory)

2. Install .NET 4.0 (Mandatory)

3. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 64-bit Redistributable (Conditional - This is needed for 64-bit Office)

4. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (Mandatory)

5. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (Mandatory)

6. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable (Mandatory)

7. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 64-bit Redistributable (Conditional - This is needed for 64-bit Office)

8. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (Mandatory)

12 . Install VSTO4.0 32-bit (Conditional - This is needed for 32-b it Microsoft Office)

13 . Install VSTO4.0 64-bit (Conditional - This is needed for 64-b it Microsoft Office)

14 . Install O2007PIA (Conditional - This is needed only if you are using Office 2007)

15 . Install CAPE-OPEN (Mandatory)

[PRO/ II 10.0 setup folder]\ThirdPartySoftware\CAPE-OPEN\ CAPE-OPEN.msi /qn

16 . Install USB driver 7.6.5 (Conditional - Th is is needed only if you are going to run PRO/II 10.0 using
USB for security)

17 . Install OLI Chemistry Wizard (Optional)

18 . Notepad++ (Mandatory)

19 . RefPropAddonSetup (Optional)
[PRO/ II 10.0 setup folder]\ThirdPartySoftware\NIST\ RefPropAddonSetup.exe

Note: RefPropAddonSetup.exe does not support Silent install. It should be installed separately fro m
the above path.

Silently install PRO/II 10.0:

Install options
1. INSTA LLDIR - PRO/II 10.0 Install location (default: C:\Program files\SIMSCI). Use double quotes
around the path if it contains a space. Examp le: INSTA LLDIR=" C:\Program Files\SimSci"

2. SECURITY_TYPE - PRO/II 10.0 security type, such as USB, FNP1111, FNP1112, FNP1113,
TKN1111, TKN1112 or TKN1113 (default: FNP1113). Example: SECURITY_TYPE=FNP1113

3. IPASSI_ LICENSE_FILE - FLEXlm/TOKEN license manager (default: none). No need to specify this if
you are going to use USB for security.

4. QUICK_ LAUNCH_ICON – Option to create a quick launch icon (default: not create). To create the icon,
use QUICK_ LAUNCH_ICON=1

5. DESKTOP_ICON – Option to create a desktop icon (default: create). To not create the icon, use
DESKTOP_ICON=""

6. ADDLOCAL – to specify what PRO/II 10.0 features to install. If this option is not used in the PRO/II
10.0 s ilent install, the program will install Co mmonRequired, SIM4M EPortal, UAS and PDTS. Features
that can be specified include OPC_UAServer and Translator.

Note that unless ADDLOCA L=ALL is used, feature CommonRequired must always be included in the list
when using the ADDLOCA L option.
Examples: To install all features, use

The command above uses FNP1113 for security, installs PRO/II 10.0 to C:\Program Files\SimSci, does not
create the desktop icon, creates the quick launch icon, and uses machine FNP1113Server for the FNP1113
security. It also installs OPC_UAServer and Translator.

Silently install optional post-PRO/II 10.0-installation applications:

1. Multi-Simu lation Manager (MSM).
MSM should be installed after the PRO/II 10.0 installation. Note that you can change the install location for
all the install programs below by editing the szDir value in the MSM install setup.iss.
