EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
DANCE MOVMENTS- Punches, Lunges, Squats, Rolling arms, Presses, Side Raise

SOCIAL FOCUS – Performing Hip/Hop cardio session. How to follow instructor. How to
maintain personal space when performing aerobic dance exercise

EQUIPMENT NEEDED: iPod, Speaker

MUSIC: Robert’s YouTube mix

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS: Make sure students are spaced out – there is a lot of moving

ORGANIZATION OF STUDENTS: two lines in front of Mr. Wilkinson

DIRECTIONS: Follow Mr. Wilkinson


Warmup: Arm circles + Jump step 2x8 counts, Side lunges 2x8, Stretch up top 2x8 (repeat whole
x2)
1st song 3 series of: Step claps 3x8 (fast), Punches 2x8 fast, chest press 1x8, slides 1x8 (repeat x 3)
2nd song step claps 3x8 beats (slow), shoulder roll 2x8, squat + kick step slide 4x8! Repeat x3
4th song (cooldown) Stretch up top 2x8, stretch to side 2x8, stretch other side 2x8, end on low
slow stretch 2x8

CUES: Feel the music – count out in beats of 8!


Most steps are repeated, watch and listen to Mr. Wilkinson’s cues

EXTENSIONS/ADAPTATIONS/MODIFICATIONS: To make it easier students can wait and watch


Mr. Wilkinson until they know the moves (moves rotate in series of 3’s).
Students instead of lunging/leaping can do a step to the side
Students who have trouble keeping up can stop and catch their breath
To make it harder speed up the music or add dumbbells!
