His career in the music industry has grown over the years. In 2009, his first single, "One Time", was a worldwide hit
and was certified Platinum in Canada and the United States. This was followed by his debut album, "My World", which was
also an international success. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record chart on the Billboard Hot
100. In 2010, he released his first full-length studio album, My World 2.0. He also released a successful concert film, Justin
Bieber: Never Say Never (2011). In 2012, he released his third studio album, Believe. In 2015, he released his fourth studio
album, Purpose.
His passion and hard work got himself a lot of achievements. He has won a Grammy Award and an American Music
Award. He has been listed numerous times by Forbes magazine among the "Top Ten Most Powerful Celebrities in the
World." He has sold an estimated 140 million records, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists.

sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a period.

In English, the subject is always spoken or written in a complete sentence. (Except for
commands/imperatives)
SUBJECT- tells you who or what did something. It is usually a noun or a pronoun. (Noun clauses for more
advanced structures)

VERB- usually tells the action. Sometimes it doesn’t. It only links the subject with the rest of the
sentence.
ACTION VERBS- verbs that expresses action that a person or thing can do.
LINKING VERBS- verbs links/connect the subject to an information about the subject. They do not have
objects.
Watching TV and listening to music are my favorite free time activities.
I am handsome.
The food tastes good.
True linking verbs: all forms of be-verbs such as- am, is, are, was, were, has been, etc.
These words are sometimes linking and action: feel, taste, smell, look, sound, etc.

A Bad Habit
My officemate and friend Larry a bad habit. He is never on time to anything. Arrives 15 minutes late
everywhere. Larry always an excuse. “I missed the bus.” “My alarm did not ring.” “My mother phoned me.” He
uses each excuse at least twice a week. Every time he late, I can finish the sentence of his excuse. However,
Larry’s bad habit not a problem for me anymore. If the movie at 7:00, I tell him it starts at 6:45. Then he early!

a young couple from India live next door to me the husband’s name is Ajay the wife’s name is Ann
everyone calls her Annie they have a young son and are expecting their second child in a few weeks they hope
to have a girl this time both Ajay and Ann have good jobs he is an executive in a computer company she is a
computer programmer and works in our local hospital Ann is a wonderful cook she cooks mostly Indian food
they sometimes invite neighbors on weekends for a potluck meal we all bring something to share it is fun to live
