1. Professional Knowledge Proficient Upon entering, your students were engaged in


/ L3 their workshop time. You were working with a
small group of students. Those who completed
their work began reading independently. You are
able to make connections across subject areas.
This is an effective way to engage students in
challenging, integrated, and exploratory learning
around personal and social concerns that appeal
to them. You addressed appropriate curriculum
standards and integrated key concepts.

2. Instructional Planning Proficient You followed your plan while remaining open to
/ L3 making changes as needed based upon the
students’ responses and needs. The pacing of
the lesson was appropriate. You stretch beyond
using the textbook and other sources for
instruction and student work were evident.

3. Instructional Strategies Proficient Your students were motivated and engaged. You
/ L3 were involved with the lesson at all stages and
made adjustments based on feedback from the
students.

record student data on your profile sheet and use

and our LSPI.

with the student who was in time-out, and then
had him return to his group to work. He was there
long enough to understand he needed to change
his behavior. You talked with him quietly and with
dignity.
