Chapter I

Introduction/Background of the Study

Rationale
As automotive scene expands and also the population

of car enthusiast grows, the need of a high-end

automotive servicing shop follows the demand. Here in our

country the Philippines, old cars are somewhat neglected

and left to rust. Owners of the old cars cannot see the

true worth of them. Old cars can be worth more than their

looks (depending on its model and year build). Owners

here in the Philippines sometimes do not know that the

car they neglected their care is a rare one and can be

sold to millions of pesos. Restorations can be worth more

than the car itself but it can double or even triple the

worth of the automotive, but restorers and their shop

here in the Philippines can be hard to find. The owners

of the cars who wish to restore theirs need to travel to

National Capital Region for restoration services and the

travel and shipment of a car itself can cost tens of

thousands of pesos. Not just restoration but also a high


quality servicing with high skilled mechanics are needed

to maintain a good car.

Historical Background of the Company

One of the most needed of a car enthusiast is a high

quality service with high skilled mechanics equipped with

High-end technology to restore and maintain their loved

cars. The garage will be named “Automotive Servicing:

Alpha AS:A”. The Garage is owned personally and managed

by the researcher. It was located at Campos Street,

Caritan Centro, Tugueagarao City, Cagayan and is

surrounded by car owners. Due to high population of car

enthusiast/car loving individuals and low business

competitors, the Garage is put up.

1. Where to get the capital for business?

2. Where to find the location to set-up business?

3. Where to get the materials and equipment? And the

cost of it
4. What are the different marketing strategies used

for the promotion of the business?

5. What are the qualifications for human resourcing?

Statement of Objectives

General Objective

 To buy, restore, and sell cars and also to provide

car lovers/enthusiast High-quality Service with

high-skilled mechanics and equipped with high-end

technology

Specific Objectives

 To create a service-based company whose primary goal

is to exceed customer’s expectations

Mission

The Automotive Servicing: Alpha’s mission is to

provide customers with high quality service. We exist to

turn serviced cars into a work of art.

Chapter II

The Company Study

Name of the Company

The name of the company derived from the first letter

of the Greek alphabet – Alpha (Aa) – which means “first”

or “beginning” and also derived from the researcher’s

surname “Asa”. The Garage has been named “Automotive

Servicing: Alpha AS:A”.

Nature of Business

The researcher’s business proposal is setting up an

Automotive Servicing Garage whereby the manager can buy,

restore, and sell and/or flip cars and also offer an

automotive servicing to car lovers/enthusiast.

Location of Business

The garage is situated at Campos Street, Barangay

Caritan Centro, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. In Barangay


Caritan Centro there are no garage alike thus giving us

competitive advantage.

Target Markets

The businesses’ target market are the car lovers who

wanted to pamper their cars and turn them into a work of

art and also for car owners who wishes to sell their cars

at a reasonable price.

The serviced/restored car itself can become an

advertising agent putting on emblem/logo of the garage

on each car. Thus expanding the target market where aver

the service/restored car goes.
