Abstract

This paper explores the argument about women`s work, starting

about talking how the society looks toward women, and how the

role of women has shifted in recent years. It shows two points

o f v i e w, t h e f i r s t p o i n t e n c o u r a g e s w o m e n t o e n t e r t h e d o m a i n o f

w o r k , s i n c e w o r k w i l l m a k e w o m e n m o r e s a t i s f i e d a n d h a p p y,

o t h e r w i s e , s h e ` s k e e p i n g h e r f a m i l y g o o d f i n a n c i a l l y. T h e

second point of view states that women should stay at home and

t a k e c a r e o f h e r f a m i l y, i n o r d e r t o r a i s e u p a n e w a n d e f f e c t i v e

g e n e r a t i o n . A n d a t t h e e n d , I ` l l s h o w m y p o i n t o f v i e w, w h i c h i s

women should stay at home.

“Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman.

It`s about making life fairer for women everywhere. It's not

about a piece of the existing pie; there are too many of us for

that. It's about baking a new pie. (Steinem, G. n.d.)

This quote shows how women play an important role in the

s o c i e t y, w o m e n a r e n ’ t j u s t a p a r t f r o m t h e s o c i e t y t h e y ` r e t h e

brilliant creature that makes a better life and a new one by

doing her duty and by raising up the new generation.

Frist, the social attitudes towards women vary as greatly as the

members of society themselves. From culture to culture,

p e r c e p t i o n s a b o u t w o m e n a n d g e n d e r e x p e c t a t i o n d i f f e r g r e a t l y.

In recent years, there has been a great shift in attitudes

towards women globally as society critically examines the role

that women should play in society and the value that women

h a v e . ( S o c i e t a l a t t i t u d e s t o w a r d s w o m e n . 2 0 11 , A p r i l ) . M o r e o v e r ,

Women have always worked, whether in paid jobs, or in the

home, and often in both. But their work is generally

u n r e c o g n i z e d a n d u n d e r v a l u e d . To d a y, w o m e n c o m p r i s e n e a r l y

half of the UK’s workforce. While there have been many

important changes in recent decades, there are many

continuities in the issues women workers face in the workplace.

Many people think that the majority of women did not do waged

work until the second half of the twentieth century brought

social change, the women’s liberation movement, and equality

Hence, the role of the women in our days have changed, she

h a s a b i g g e r r e s p o n s i b i l i t y. S o m e p e o p l e c l a i m t h a t w o m e n

should work outside to be a satisfied person and plays an

e f f e c t i v e r o l e i n h e r s o c i e t y. Other think women should stay at

h o m e t a k i n g c a r e o f h e r f a m i l y, i n o r d e r t o r a i s e u p t h e

effective, and better generation.

The first opinion is with women work whereas we know women

are known for their multi-tasking. They have an ability to do

various tasks at one time. They could be working somewhere

a n d a t t h e s a m e t i m e t a k i n g c a r e o f t h e i r f a m i l y. ( N a g r a l e , P.

Frist, working women will have complete financial

i n d e p e n d e n c e . s h e h a s n ’ t t o d e p e n d o n h e r h u s b a n d f o r m o n e y.

She`s on her feet. It gives her a sigh of relief that she does not

have to fear if tomorrow her man leaves her because she would

be capable enough to take care of herself and her children

f i n a n c i a l s t a b i l i t y, a l l o w i n g t h e m t o e n j o y a b e t t e r l i f e t o g e t h e r .

Second, she will enjoy a happier marriage where her partner will

feel less financial pressure, he will appreciate her for the effort

s h e d o e s . M o r e o v e r, s h e w i l l b e h a p p i e r a n d m o r e s a t i s f i e d

p e r s o n , w h e n s h e b a l a n c e s h e r t i m e b e t w e e n h e r j o b a n d f a m i l y,

which make her feel self-accomplishment. Also, she will have an

identity of her own, that makes her more confidence, where

working outside will help her to maintain and develop her sense

o f s e l f . H o w e v e r, w o r k w i l l g i v e h e r a b i g g e r s e n s e o f p u r p o s e ,

where working full time gives her a personal fulfillment.

Furthermore, working women have a life beyond their family

and kids, which gives them a sense of self-accomplishment and

fulfillment. Her self-esteem increases considerably- she will fell

model for their kids. When her kids notice that their mom is

managing everything, and balancing her time with her duty to

her house and to work. They get inspired by their mother and

outside the home, her kids will tend to be more self-sufficient,

active and responsible. As well, they will be more aware and

knowledgeable when their mom shares with them her experience

with life.

Otherwise, working women have a stronger social connection.

Working outside the home, allows women to connect with

different people from diverse backgrounds. Interacting with

different people opens her minds and broadens her perspective

and she became less judgmental. Her general knowledge

improves, connecting and communicating with people allow her

to learn more, which is one of the key aspects of her personal

On the other hand, the other opinion says that women should

stay at home, and take care of her kids and her husband. Since

early childhood is the most formative period of development for

a child it is important that a mother has as much time to devote

to her children as possible. By staying at home, mothers could

ensure that the next generation had the best start in life,

hopefully averting future problems and providing a benefit to

(n.d.)). Furthermore, when mothers work outside the home, they

have less time to spend with their children. They have less time

for the vital parts of family and community life that they can’t

p u t a d o l l a r v a l u e o n . A d d i t i o n a l l y, t h e l e v e l o f s t r e s s i n c r e a s e s

in the family when parents are so pressed for time because both

are working full-time jobs. Hence, if more mothers stayed at

home, we would have stronger nuclear families, stronger

extended families, and stronger communities.

M o r e o v e r, m a n y r e l i g i o n s a n d c u l t u r e v i e w a w o m e n ’ s p l a c e a s

being in the home. Within this sphere, they are respected as of

paramount. Facilitating women to stay at home with their

children respects these beliefs and helps to foster the culture of

respect towards women’s special role that underpins them.

R a t h e r, M o t h e r s w h o s t a y a t h o m e w i t h t h e i r c h i l d r e n a r e m o r e

l i k e l y t o h a v e t i m e t o b e i n v o l v e d w i t h t h e i r c o m m u n i t y.

organizers of school trips and mothers who stay home are able

to become more fully involved in these aspects of community

I think that women should stay at home and take care of her

family and give them love.the main problem is that society

doesn`t appreciate how important role women do in their home.

It's not an easy mission. It needs a lot of sacrifices, organizes,

and management. She`s not only raising her own children, she`s

building the new generation.

In the end, kids have not nominated objects, they are growing

a n d d e v e l o p i n g e v e r y d a y, a n d t h e y ` r e g o i n g t o b e t h i n k i n g

about what`s right and wrong and friendships and love and

m o r a l i t y, a n d j u s t a b o u t e v e r y t h o u g h t a h u m a n c o u l d t h i n k

about. And who do you want to have to influence? them?
