Unit Summary:
In this unit, we will be learning the critical features/teaching cues (or steps) on how to execute a proper forearm pass, how to set a volleyball, and how to do
an overhand/underhand serve. We will be practicing these skills through a variety of games and activities, and will lead into an actual game of volleyball.
Also, we will be learning important terms and the basic rules of a volleyball such as limiting volleys to three hits, proper rotation, where to stand when
serving, and common faults (fouls) that players commit. Students will be tested on their ability to perform each skill, the material we have learned in this
class, and demonstrate positive behavior around their peers and during game play.
NOTE: I know some of you are not volleyball athletes, so I do not expect you to execute each skill perfectly. Although, I do expect you to come out ready to
learn and we will focus on improvement and enhancing your performance.
