Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern

between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?” (1kings 3:9)

In 1 Kings chapter 3, Solomon had just ascended the throne of his father, David, as the
King of Israel. One day, God appeared to him and said to him “Ask what I shall give
thee.” His response was remarkable and pleasing to God: “Give therefore thy servant an
understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is
able to judge this thy so great a people?” (1kings 3:9)

A noteworthy part of Solomon’s response is where he said “…for who is able to judge this
thy so great a people?” Notice he considered the kingdom he was given to rule as great,
even though it didn’t seem so at the time. The people of Israel had just left the era of
being ruled by Judges; Solomon was just the third king to rule over them, therefore in
comparison to other nations, they were small. But Solomon thought differently, he saw
his assignment as great.

There are some Christians, who when given a responsibility in Church, esteem it as
small or insignificant. They look down at what they are assigned to do, but this is the
wrong attitude. What has been committed to you? How do you esteem it? Maybe
you’ve been asked to start or lead a cell, don’t see it as small. Regard your assignment
highly and give it your best. Think and act like Paul who boldly said “…I magnify my
ministry…” (Romans 11:13 NKJV) Also bear in mind the words of Jesus, “He that is
faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much…” (Luke 16:10).

“For we are labourers together with God…” (1 Corinthians 3:9)

Years ago, as we visited several villages and towns preaching the gospel, the Holy Spirit
gave us unique strategies to carry out our work. Sometimes we were led specifically to
the village square to pray first. Other times, we were led to minister to the traditional
ruler of the area before we got started. In some cases, when we went to academic
institutions, the Spirit of God led us to lay hands on the foundation stone of the School.
If we were going to have true and lasting results, we had to employ the strategy of the
Spirit as we were led.

As you go about evangelizing your world and reaching the lost with God’s saving
message, there are strategies the Lord will reveal to you on how to win. He may tell you
to do certain things, or sometimes, all He’ll require of you is to speak forth a word. As
He puts that word in your mouth, speak it boldly.

Maybe you’ve been praying about the church, your cell, a family or a project, if you
yield to the Spirit through prayer, He would guide you and tell you what to do.
Perhaps you want to take over a territory for the Lord, enquire of Him and He will give
you the strategies for a massive harvest of souls. Remember, you're a co-labourer with
Him, and this is your Year of Spreading.

The cell is not a term for describing the smallest individual unit of ministry,
but a foundation for many of the things we do. It is an officially organized
fellowship, the smallest missionary unit, which is structured as spiritual
military base where it exists. The cell is a basic unit of life of the full
organism, and it has a major function of growth and expansion.

Your work as a cell leader is very important. You are responsible for
growing the cell numerically, and functioning with your members to impact
your target community with it. There is no telling how far the impact a single
cell can cause in a city; Jesus started His cell with 12 people (His
disciples), and today, there are millions and millions through generations
that have been impacted all over the world- and still counting! Hallelujah.

Celebrate the impact of your cell today. Think about the lives being
impacted by the teaching of God’s Word at the meeting. Celebrate that
individual who had lost purpose for living, but visited your cell and now, is
born again, filled with the Holy Spirit and you can see the spark in his eyes,
with determination to live a purposeful live for the Lord. Think about the
family that was restored because they attended your meetings, and as you
mediate on these inspiring testimonies from your cell, remember that the
Master’s touch is needed today in the lives of many more, and He is
counting on you as His instrument of change.

Endeavour to constantly make your cell meetings packed out with people,
extraordinary, full of the miraculous and a solution ground to the challenges
of men.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).

The Lord has given us a message - the gospel of Jesus Christ, and a divine mandate to preach this gospel in the entire world. What He expects from you is to
Christianize your mission field for Jesus!
As a child of God you have been sent on a mission of reconciling the world of men to God. The day you got born again, you were born a missionary! And so, it's
your divine responsibility to bear the message of reconciliation to your world. This is what the Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:18-19, "And all things are of God,
who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto
himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."

God's idea is for you to see your place of work, school, neighborhood, and so on, as your mission field. This is not optional; it's a calling and a privilege for every
Christian, and you must be fully involved in it, as a faithful steward and a custodian of the Gospel.
