use and troubleshoot current technologies and are able to transfer their knowledge to explore emerging
technologies.

3c
Students curate information from digital resources using a variety of tools and methods to create collections
of artifacts that demonstrate meaningful connections or conclusions.
3d
Students build knowledge by actively exploring real-world issues and problems, developing ideas and
theories and pursuing answers and solutions.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.

Seesaw is a learning journal for students. It also works as a digital portfolio. They can post videos and
pictures to share what they are thinking and learn while teachers teach their lessons. Seesaw is a safe space
for students to communicate and collaborate. Nothing is shared without teacher approval. Teachers can also
invite families to Seesaw to keep them in the loop about their child’s learning.
INTEGRATION/IMPLEMENTATION IDEA - SCREENCASTING
How might you use this resource to promote student learning? Describe who will be doing the screencasting
– you or your students, and what purpose it will serve.
I did the screencast for the Seesaw App. Guiding the students on how to log in and complete their assignment
to Compare and Contrast.
For Students, Seesaw empowers students to independently document their learning with built-
in creative tools, and provides an authentic audience for their work. Students follow
simple tasks with easy instructions. It empowers students to create, reflect, share and collaborate.
For Families, Seesaw gives families an immediate access
into their child’s school day and makes communication with teachers easier.
For Teachers, seesaw saves time on organization and family communication, and
makes formative assessment easy.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
 Given the information above, how would the technology integration you described, using the selected
resource? (On the “Value-Added Rating Scale” above)
 Explain your rating based on the indicators on the rubric.

I give the value added a 2. It enhances the lesson by making it easier and a more efficient way to work. It
does not transform it. The app has the capability to transform a lesson for teachers in k-8th grade. I don’t feel
it can transform the high school students who would expect a more elaborate technology app.
