needed.

V. Materials:
 Cut out fingerprint counting printables
 Paint
 Printable gumball jar
 Makers
 Beginners balance
 Three bear family counter set
 popsicle sticks
 computer and projector
 I Can Count to 100 song

VI. Pre-Lesson assignments and/or prior knowledge:

The teacher will use the computer and projector to show the students the I Can Count
to 100 and Count by 10 songs/videos. This will help the students learn to count to
one-hundred by ones and by tens. After indicating the songs/videos to the students,
the teacher will then play an online game called Comparing Quantities Quiz where
students have to count and compare quantities. It also helps students practice using
greater than, less than, or equal to.

VII. Lesson Beginning:

The teacher will start the lesson by replaying both the I Can Count to 100 and Count
by 10 songs and talking about the different types of activities they will be working on
to learn numbers and cardinality.

VIII. Instructional Plan:

1. There will be three centers set up in the classroom where students will be put in
specified centers in groups of four.
2. In center one, there will be cut out fingerprint counting printables and paint.
3. In center two, there will be cut out printable gumball jars and markers.
4. In center three, there will be a beginner’s scale, three bear family counter set, and
three alligator popsicle sticks written greater than, less than, and equal to.
5. For center one, students will create caterpillars, pock-a-dots on their lady bugs,
and/or flower petals using their fingers and paint according to the number
indicated on the printable.
6. For center two, there will be cut out printable gumball jars and markers where
students will have to count the set of gumballs in each gumball jar and write their
answer using their marker.
7. For center three, students will use put different amount of bears on each side of
the balance to see which side weighs more than the other. Then students will use
the alligator popsicle sticks to show if the result of the balance is greater than, less
than or equal to.
8. The teacher will observe the students while in their centers and help them if
needed.
9. The teacher will also observe that the students are working on their activities,
when the teacher sees that students are done with their specified center, the
teacher will then make students rotate to a different center.
10. Once every student has completed each center activity, students will then clean up
the center which they are in.
11. Lastly, students will have a class discussion about their experience at the different
centers.

IX. Conclusion:
Students will share their experience about the different centers they worked on. After
their discussion, the teacher will show once more the I Can Count to 100 and Count
by 10 songs/videos. After the songs/videos the teacher will go over with the students
how to count to one hundred by tens to make sure they’ve learned how.
