Letter of Invitation

Following on my invitation letter of the last January, I am requesting that you submit your
nominations for the 6th International Young Geotechnical Engineers’ Conference (iYGEC6) to be
held at the Global Education Center for Engineers (GECE) of Seoul National University, Seoul,
Korea from September 16 to 17, 2017. You are kindly advised to select your nominations up to 2
persons who are at the age of 35 or younger. Please fill out the attached nomination form and
return it to us before June 30, 2016 at iygec@icsmge2017.org. Each participant needs to register
individually online via the official website (www.icsmge2017.org), which will be open on
September 30, 2016. The registration fee for both nominated and non-nominated participants has
been set at US $400. The fee includes:

1) Nominated participants
• Registration fee: $400
• Registration includes in addition to the participation to the Conference:
- Program book, electronic proceedings in a memory stick, lunch & coffee during the
Conference
- Two-day transit pass in Seoul
- Single accommodation for 5 nights: Check-in on Sep. 15 and Check-out on 20
at Gangnam Serviced Residences (https://www.gangnamresidence.com/eng/index.asp)
- Complimentary shuttle bus service between the venue and the hotel during the
Conference
- Admission to the first 2-days of the 19th ICSMGE (September 18 and 19, 2017)
- Banquet on Sep. 16 and welcome reception of the 19th ICSMGE on Sep. 17

2) Non-nominated participants
• Registration fee: $400
• Registration includes in addition to the participation to the Conference:
- Program book, electronic proceedings in a memory stick
- Lunch & coffee during the Conference
- Two-day transit pass in Seoul
- Banquet on Sep. 16 and welcome reception of the 19th ICSMGE on Sep. 17
Non-nominated participants are required to make reservation of their accommodation by
themselves. Please note that non-nominated participants who stay at the Gangnam Serviced
Residences or nearby can use our complimentary shuttle bus service.

3) Important dates
• Nomination due: June 30, 2016
• Abstract submission: July 31 ~ September 30, 2016
• Registration open: September 30, 2016
• Full-length paper of 2 pages submission due: March 31, 2017
• Presentation file submission: September 1, 2017
