Successors of Bhagat Singh

(3 guys chatting on a road, a mother (shobha) and her 20 year old daughter (yamini) walking on the
same road on their way to home from a flag hoisting ceremony)

Amith: Look at the woman with flag pinned to her sari, she looks like mother India.

Rahul: look at her daughter yaar.

Sohail: Daughter India is hotter than mother India.

(Listening this 2 women approach the guys)

Shobha: don’t you have manners? How can you speak rubbish about mother India that too on
independence day?

Amith: what’s special about Independence Day? We don’t see any difference between 14 th august and
15th august. Both the days have same 24 hrs which are not sufficient for us to enjoy.

Rahul: You salute the flag only one day and forget about it for the remaining 364days. Is that patriotism?

Shobha: Don’t you know the importance of Independence Day? Your enjoyment today is the result of
freedom struggle by some great people.

Sohail: what freedom do we have? We couldn’t live the way we want in this country. We can’t drive bike
as we like and we can’t smoke wherever we want. We are living with so many rules and restrictions.

Shobha: you are much worried about your enjoyment. Do you know that Bhagat Singh sacrificed his life
at the age of 23 for the sake of freedom? Why do you think he did it?

Why didn’t he enjoy like you?

Amith: I think he didn’t experience the real enjoyment.

Yamini: mom let me deal with them. Guys Bhagat Singh didn’t experience your so called real enjoyment
because he didn’t want his next generations to be slaves.

Rahul: so what? Do you want us to die for country? We are ready to do so but I think now the British are
not ruling over our country.

Yamini: right. But we are facing problems like terrorism, corruption, communal riots etc. you can use
your knowledge and time to fight against them.

Sohail: it’s impossible to change this country.

Yamini: everybody is escaping from duties saying like this. Do you know why Vallabhai Patel is called
IRON MAN?

He brought 565 princely states into Indian union alone to guide it towards growth.

Amith: hey! I am not going to change anything and

I don’t want my name to be printed in history books.

(Amith leaves the place by indicating the 2 women as mad to his friends and to escape from them)

Rahul: ok I will respect country from now. Jai Hind

(Rahul too leaves by doing March fast like a soldier)

Sohail: thank you mother India and you her daughter for the lecture.

(Sohail also leaves singing vandemataram with bad voice)

Shobha: do you feel that these successors of Bhagat Singh will change?

Yamini: mom we didn’t get freedom in one day, these guys also won’t change in one day but on next
Independence Day they will definitely think once before commenting any woman carrying a flag.
