Please list 2 areas of strength for the PRECEPTOR

Ashley is very good at communicating as a preceptor. She always provided me with

great feedback and explained rotation goals and objectives. She allowed me to work
independently and answered questions as needed. She provided excellent topic
discussions and did a great job with involving me without is feeling like a lecture.
Ashley is a fantastic role model for students. She is enthusiastic about pharmacy and
loves to teach students. She did a very good job explaining counseling techniques to
me and allowed me to shadow her the first few times before letting me go solo. This
allowed me to see how she approached patients and develop my own way of
counseling.

Please list 2 areas for improvement for the PRECEPTOR

Ashley could improve by expecting more from students. As students, we need to be

taken out of our comfort zones and collaborate with other professions and learn how
to appropriately communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers.

Overall, general topic discussions including all rotation students on site would have
been a great way to collaborate and teach our fellow peers. I think it would have
been educational to have a student led topic discussion where we can learn the
information and discuss our findings with the preceptor. Ashley had me prepare to
discuss a multitude of topics. The discussions were very educational. I think I would
have retained the information better if I would have reviewed it and then been
expected to teach Ashley about what I read. This way I am actively using the
knowledge I gained.
