The history of the company, however, takes it back to a very different beginning. Founded in the year
2000, NetAmbit began operations at the height of the dotcom bubble. It started its services as a provider
of web capabilities to several internet portals. The genesis of the name ‘NetAmbit’ is from these early
roots.

The company soon modified its business goals along with the changing times to initiate its entrance to the
‘Direct Marketing’ model of operations which has remained its mainstay to date. This model is now
generically referred to as the ‘NetAmbit Model’ in the financial industry. Through this method, NetAmbit
became a successful agent for telecom giant ‘Bharti’ selling mobile connections, internet cards and other
products.

It was in 2003, with the mushrooming of the financial industry and simultaneous deregulation of the
sector, that NetAmbit finally embarked on its journey to become the most respected Financial Services
Distribution company in India. With humble beginnings, the company started with just 11 employees to
grow to over 3500 across over 150 locations across the country as of today. Currently, it is one of the
fastest growing privately held players in the industry with more than a 100% growth rate, year-on-year.

Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) is one of the oldest & biggest private equity firms in the United
States. It recently closed a $1 billion global fund with $350 million earmarked for investments in India.
Based on NetAmbit’s strong performance over the past years and its unique business model, Bessemer
Venture Partners, invested in the company in the year 2007.

Helion Ventures Partners is a $350 Million India-focused, stage independent venture fund, investing in
technology-powered and consumer service businesses in sectors like Outsourcing, Internet, Mobile,
Technology Products, Retail Services, Education and Financial Services. Helion invested in NetAmbit in
December 2009.

generically referred to as the ‘NetAmbit Model’ in the industry. NetAmbit has optimized this model to
create efficiencies higher than any other player in the industry. The company caters to the largest section
of population in India as compared to any other financial services company.

Channels
NetAmbit distributes financial products to its customers through several different channels. They are as
listed below :-

Direct Marketing Model

The direct marketing or ‘hub and spoke’ model has been NetAmbit’s mainstay since its inception. The
company has over time perfected processes around this model to the extent that it is generically known
as the ‘NetAmbit Model’ in the insurance and financial products industry.

The direct marketing team operates out of centralized centres in Noida, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai,
Mumbai and Kolkata. Leads generated by this team are then serviced by field agents in over 150 cities
across the country, offering customized products according to the customer’s needs.

This model has a built capacity of over 3500 workstations and 800 field executives across India. Back end
operations for the entire country are handled centrally from the corporate office in Noida.

Branch Model

NetAmbit operates independent sales teams directly from 34 branches pan-India. This is hence also
referred to as the Branch Network Model. This team creates and converts their own leads and is
instrumental in setting up the NetAmbit brand in the minds of out consumers. The channel is also
supported by the direct marketing strength in order to optimize business and increase efficiency.
Our Network
NetAmbit has a truly Pan-India presence with its branches all over the country. Its corporate office is
based out of Noida with 5 main centres at Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata. Apart from
these centres, the company has field sales coverage at over 150 locations across the country. It is
NetAmbit’s ability to reach out to the large untapped population residing in Tier 2, 3 & 4 towns that is the
